This Blooming Gel is Base Coat and Top Coat needed. Tips: 1. Shape and clean up your natural nails. Use rubbing alcohol to get all the oils off. This will make it last longer. 2. Use a base coat and cure it for 60-90 seconds to prevent peeling off. 3. Apply color gel and cure it for 60-90 seconds. 4. Apply blooming gel, don't cure. 5. Apply color gel, don't cure. Wait for the blooming effect and cure it for 60-90 seconds. 6. Apply top coat and cure 60-90 seconds to prevent stickiness. Cure longer if you apply a thick layer or use a low-wattage UV lamp.

    Until seeing this, I had never heard of nail blooming gel. After reading what it does I decided to give it a try. I have a cold right now so my sense of smell is duller than normal. However, I found this gel to be incredibly pungent.

    I followed the instructions by applying a base coat and curing. I then applied a very thin coat of blooming gel without curing. I then put a drop of coloured polish and waited for the blooming effect to occur.

    The difficulty is getting the same effect on more than one nail. Clearly this is something you need to practice a lot. On the plus side if you don’t get a result that you like you can just wipe it off because it has not been cured. So little gel polish is used each time so this will last a long time. Even if you need repeated attempts to get the results you want.

    I don’t mind experimenting even if it means repeating several times. The one thing I really dislike though is the odour from this gel polish because for me it is absolutely horrible. For best results I would suggest after the base coat has been applied and cured, either a black or white coat should be applied and cured. The reason being is that after applying the thin coat of blooming gel, any colour you choose will make the blooming effect clearer than if you apply a clear coat after the base.

    For the size of the bottle vs. the price, the value is definitely there. If you like to experiment, you will love this blooming gel polish.
