THIS WILL DESTROY YOUR HOUSE.👌👌
This isn't going to be a review about the movie itself but rather the 4k transfer with Atmos audio. I am an Audio and Video enthusiast so this is based on that perspective. The movie itself is a REAL 4K TRANSFER taken from a 35mm camera, it looks gorgeous in 4k throughout the movie. The details in the clothing and scenery are beautiful. The Atmos audio is simply AMAZING. 7 min into the start of the movie and your SUBWOOFER gets it's first workout and boy did my entire house nearly CRUMBLE at the first missile shot from the German Tank. Every battle scene is BRUTAL, I have a 5000 watt Paradigm Servo 15 v2 subwoofer and every battle scene my walls, windows and house foundation were taking a severe BEATING. The subwoofers LFE SIGNAL (low frequency extension) that this movie has will have your subwoofer working OVERTIME and putting a huge smile on your face. The detail from the bullets flying around you are very crisp and detailed and never get muffled. I listened to this movie about 20 decibels above reference levels and even then It was destructive, I can only imagine what it would have been like listening to this track at Reference levels (0). I got this movie on sale for 15$ and it was definitely worth the experience if you have a BAD ASS SYSTEM. There are about 3 REFERENCE AUDIO QUALITY SCENES that I wrote down to demo my system to friends. If you want to annihilate your house don't hesitate, just buy it.

I haven’t watched this on 4k yet, but I’m sure YouTube and google have plenty of reviews on the 4k quality.

It’s a good war movie with good acting and good cinematography if you like war movies.

I was just thankful that the item arrived undamaged, which seems to be rather hit or miss these days.

It is hard to pin this movie to a Moral Rating, as it fluctuates between Very Offensive and Excellent. There are some brief, crude, sexual comments; but the F-word begins with a flurry and lingers until near the end. However, in a battlefield you may able to excuse this for the sake of WWII realism; as even Ernie Pyle, whose personal communications were “colorful,” is quoted as saying, “I am sick and tired of that word f***. If I ever hear the f***-ing word again I’m going to throw up!”

It would be difficult to recommend this movie to a Christian audience were it not for a single phrase, quoted from Isaiah: “Whom shall I send…” It was presented at the perfect time and place to give it a lasting impact that nothing from a pulpit could match. It brought a tear to this old man’s eye.

There is one Christian character in the cast, and his interaction with the others was uplifting amidst the battlefield violence. The script, acting and cinematography combined like a symphony to place me in the midst of WWII chaos, and made it easier to accept why my father returned from the war an atheist. My only technical criticism is the assumption that bad guys can’t shoot straight.

I have just encountered a capsule review of this movie that must be added: “Still there is a certain nobility and dignity in combat soldiers… They are rough and their language gets coarse because they live a life stripped of convention and niceties. Their nobility and dignity come from the way they live unselfishly and risk their lives to help each other.

They are normal people who have been put where they are, and whose actions and feelings have been molded by their circumstances. There are gentlemen and boors; intelligent ones and stupid ones; talented ones and inefficient ones. But when when they are all together and they are fighting, despite their bitching and griping and goldbricking and mortal fear, they are facing cold steel and screaming lead and hard enemies, and they are advancing and beating the hell out of the opposition.” The uncanny thing is that it was written by Bill Mauldin, in 1945.

This film is great. One of the better war films I’ve watched and I love the genre. It’s a slow watch in the sense that the character development and tension are strung along and exquisite. I couldn’t turn away. It’s the right amount of uncomfortable and psychological with the WWII backdrop. I enjoyed seeing tanks in a way you don’t always see in war films. This is not a rah rah American war film either. I’m shocked to see how underrated it was in general. I bought it based on others reviews that it was one not to miss and they were right so I’m adding my experience as well. An excellent film that deserves more attention for sure. Brad Pitt was phenomenal and the entire cast nailed it. This is not some action Hollywood glam film. It’s truly an experience and it stays with you after the film is over. Some people take issue with some of the tank warfare but I felt it was a strong film start to finish with intense and poetic character development.

This essentially a story of a teenager who was sent off to war after just 8 weeks training and joined a very small band of soldiers and expected to act like a man, with considerable war experience, immediately. Of course he faced many struggles with his conscience and natural fears but eventually overcame them with the much needed guidance and support from his team leader who genuinely wants and indeed needs him to grow up quick and become a good soldier, albeit via a "cruel to be kind" manner, but it was a much needed lesson. Gradually you see him grow into his "man at war" boots who eventually earned the full respect of his 'Brothers at war'. The ending was sad but not unexpected. RECOMMENDED VIEWING.
