Works well, some things to consider
I used this frosted paint for my garage windows as the windows face the street. This YumCraft privacy paint produces a well frosted finish. However, if you are looking for something with a more translucent finish, this may not be what you are looking for. I was happy with the finished product. With the amount of paint provided, I did 2 coats on three 2x4 foot windows and still have about 1/3 of the tub remaining. The instructions say you can put 3 coats, but I felt 2 coats added the opacity I was looking for. The product comes with the paint, which I have to say had some really well thought out packaging - a sealed cap, plus a secondary cap that needs to be pulled out separately, some nylon gloves, and a little paint roller. You will need to get some container or go to your local hardware store to get a mini paint tray. The pictures I've included give an idea of before, after a single coat, after two coats, and a close up of the slight streaking. Since these are in the garage it doesn't bug me, but if I was doing this inside, I would have tried to clean up the streaks more. Some things to consider: - Follow the instructions and take your time to clean each window you want to apply this to, it doesn't cover up any existing marks. - Consider going to your local hardware store and getting a better rolling brush as the one supplied did leave some slight streaks after drying no matter how well I tried to roll it on. However, I'm not a professional painter, so it could have been user error. Either way, quality tools will make quality work!

this product has been a perfect solution. It creates a beautiful translucent barrier that diffuses sunlight, which reduces glare while still letting in a soft, natural glow.

I recently used it on my bathroom window, and it was so easy to apply. A single bottle covered the entire window with plenty to spare. It formed a waterproof and fade-resistant surface, and it looks fantastic! I love that it balances my privacy needs with maintaining bright, natural light. It's incredibly useful for creating a discreet space without making it feel dark or enclosed. I also plan to use it on a glass panel in my home office door to add a touch of privacy there.

    The high coverage and durability are impressive; it feels very robust and I'm confident it will resist weathering and wear, even with interior and exterior use. Knowing that it's formulated with safety in mind, minimizing glass splintering during breakage, gives me extra peace of mind. This frosted glass paint has truly enhanced the aesthetic and functionality of my home. I couldn't be happier with this purchase;

The frosted finish looks nice once applied, but it took multiple coats and careful to avoid streaks. The coverage wasn’t as good as I expected and what I thought would be an easy DIY project wasn’t as easy as I thought. Not bad, but not super easy either.

We have quite a few windows that face the street and thus, other houses. We have mirror window tint to have privacy when the curtains and blinds are open. But, in the evening, when lit from inside the house, you can see quite clearly into our home.

We picked this up so we don't have to worry about drawing the blinds and having people peer inside.

The kit comes with everything you need. The "paint", gloves, masking tape, and roller/brush. Application is really easy when you use light pressure on the roller. I've seen other reviews with issues applying it, and as long as you use don't overload the brush and use light pressure when applying, you should have no issues.

We are really happy with the result and plant to do more windows. With a light two coats I should be able to apply this to all the windows in our office so it's a good value for the money.

鶹 Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
This Frosted Glass Paint was easy to roll on my bathroom window and provided privacy in one coat. The kit included tape for the edges, a small roller and handle and the paint. The roller doesn't completely cover all of the edges of the glass. After the first coat dried I used a small paint brush to cover the edges. The brushed areas look no different than the rolled areas. I applied a second coat; rolled & brush applied the edges. The second coat definitely wrapped up the job. When the sun shines on the window the pattern of the window screen is on the lower window. I thought that was a cool way for the paint to dry and look until I examined the pattern a bit closer! This job was mess free and the brush I used easily cleaned with soap and water.
If you are trying to find an option for making a window private this paint is easy to use and performs well. How I managed to design a house where my bathroom window lines up exactly with my neighbors window is beyond me but this frosted glass paint took care of the problem. I wouldn't want to scare the poor guy to death by him accidentally looking in my window when I am getting ready to shower!
Thank you for the window paint! Highly Recommended!!

First of all it does come in a nice little kit, gloves, tape, and a decent little roller that cleans out very well. The product itself remind me of Elmers glue in consistency. Mild odor nothing bothersome. Straight out of the container rolled on glass not an easy task, I don’t know how you get the edges next to the window mullions because the roller hits them and leave you with clear glass all around the edge and if you were to touch it with a brush it would streak and not match the rolled glass plus the roller jams up and stops when it hits the edge making it slide across the glass instead of rolling. I also found where it overlapped was leaving me with dark edges but by rolling very lightly I could basically get them out. Now as for the look, at no point out of the container could you get it to be as see-through as they show it in the photo descriptions. They show one layer, two layer and three layer I have photos of one layer to layer and three layer there was literally no visibility through the glass at one layer it’s white. I used test panes of an old barn window. I attempted to try other methods and was going to do more practicing and testing but I’ve decided it’s too time-consuming to get exactly what I’m looking for I am going to move on to another product. I did find by watering it down a little, you get more visibility through the glass at one layer. I also started testing with different sponges and dabbing the top right of the three panes of glass in the photos was done with a faux Brillo pad gotten from a dollar store, I really like the effect and think a second dabbing would’ve looked even better. Bottom left window pain was watered down mix of product, top left is one coat, two coat, three coat. these photos were taken from inside looking out into the woods in the sunlight. Disappointing.

Firstly, it doesn't have a horrible odor :)
It's dry enough in 30 minutes to put on a second coat if needed. Texture is like milk.
To open the container you need to slide a plastic tag to the right to peel off, similar to a gallon water bottle.
Then remove the outer cap, lift out the inner cap. (Washes off easy with soap & water if/when you get some on your skin)
We used this to give a light haze/fog to a bathroom door's window (it used to be an outside entry door).
It dried to the touch within 30 minutes. We're pleased with how easy it is to use.
There was no bad odor while you wait for it to dry, not even as strong a scent as paint is; it's quite mellow :)

I have a new door that already has tint on it but I felt I needed a little more privacy and something to help block the sun a little (I’ve been using cling cover plastic sheeting as a temporary solution). Before this product became available, I had never heard of glass paint … I’m grateful it popped up as it turned out to be a perfect solution to what I needed!

Before I painted my side light glass on my new door I needed to know if it was removable in case I didn’t like it. I have one window in my house that needs to be replaced so it became my “test dummy”. I taped off and painted two spots, one with one coat, the other with two coats.

A couple of notes … I could only tell the difference between one and two coats at night. During the day, they looked the same. With one coat, you can NOT see through it at all. Light comes in, but you can’t see anything through it like the vendor’s pictures show. Maybe I have a heavy hand??? Up close, it looks like a sticker is on my window …

It is removable!! Depending on the size of the area painted, it would take some work, but it can be removed. I used a scraping tool and it took it off without damaging the window. I also tried mineral spirits, which didn’t take it off quickly. It definitely affected / weakened the paint (and made scraping it off easier) but it didn’t remove it (maybe with more soaking time or scrubbing it would – I just wiped it a few times over and it didn’t remove it).

The odor isn’t as bad as I thought it would be after reading the instructions. I could definitely smell something but it was tolerable and no headache.

Once I knew it was removable I committed to painting my two side lights on my new door.

A couple of tips … a little goes a long way. Didn’t use much paint to create my privacy panel on my side lights. Start with a little pour first and see how much it covers. You can always add more.

Rinse the roller out really, *really* well. When I was rolling the actual windows, I found the roller was creating a little more textured look. I thought I rinsed it out well after using on my test area, but from the texture being created with the second time using it (the real time) it seems I didn’t. I used a rag to kind of scrub the roller and it was fine but it made me note to rinse it out really well after each use.

Use a light hand when rolling but make sure to get all the edges, sides and corners. After painting I saw a few “bald” spots and had to go back … it turned out okay … I can tell where I went back but I don’t know if anyone else would notice. I can also see where I didn’t get the edges as well as I should have but unless someone is studying my windows, I can’t imagine they would notice my mistakes.

In my particular application, I painted then back rolled hoping to erase any roller marks, and it worked. *Side note – I used green tape instead of the tape supplied simply because I wanted a wider tape*.

Extremely pleased with the final product. Provides a privacy level I wanted, shelters the sunlight and still gives me enough room to see who may be at my door (more than my peephole allows for). Happy!
