I’ve used quite a few Frida products over time, both for postpartum care and baby essentials, so this grooming kit felt like a good, practical set — especially for those newborn days.
What I liked
• Well-rounded essentials set: This kit covers the basics you actually need in those early weeks, which makes it easy to keep everything in one place instead of buying pieces separately.
• Nail scissors: I already use Frida’s baby nail clippers, but I found the scissors even easier when baby nails were very thin. Being able to clearly see how much nail I was cutting — and how close I was to the skin — made trimming feel much less nerve-wracking.
• Manual nail file: I prefer manual files over electric ones, especially for tiny fingers. This one smooths sharp edges well and gives more control, so I don’t worry about hitting the nail bed or skin. The curved shape actually helps follow the nail instead of fighting it.
• Soft brush: The brush is genuinely soft and gentle. I like using it during bath time for a light head massage or just to tidy things up without irritating the scalp.
• Comb: This has been useful for gently loosening dry scalp or cradle cap without scraping or pulling.
• Storage cases: I appreciated that several pieces come with their own cases. It keeps everything cleaner and easier to toss into a drawer or diaper caddy.
Things to keep in mind
• Finger brush design: I like the idea of the finger brush and the fact that it comes with a storage case, but I personally found it a bit bulky for my baby’s mouth. The bristle layout also felt awkward to maneuver compared to simpler, straight finger brushes, which I’ve found easier to use around gums and early teeth.
• Some tools come down to preference: Nothing felt poorly made, but certain items — especially the finger brush — will depend on what feels most comfortable for you as a parent.
• Most useful in the newborn stage: This kit is useful in the early stage. But as babies grow, you may naturally reach for fewer of the items or replace some of them.
This is a solid newborn grooming kit that brings together practical essentials in one place, with nail care being the strongest part of the set for me. While not every piece will suit every parent’s preference, it fits well into those early baby-care routines and feels thoughtfully designed overall.
