- Reviewed in Canada on January 25, 2025For some of you younger folks, one may not recognize this device that was pretty standard in North American Homes, prior to the advent of electrical appliances. When I saw this, I could not resist getting it as it brought back many memories of my youth. Back in those times working in the kitchen was usually a picture of laborious tasks by all involved in that particular food preparation. Oh how I only remembered the good part of such devices, getting this quickly brought me back to reality. Back then hand held egg beaters were all of similar design and function. The difference was the mechanics of the tool. On the better ones, beating eggs were a smooth and successful venture, On others the beaters would periodically stick, requiring Armstrong strength to turn the handle and complete what today is a simple task of beating some eggs and one could elevate that to a factor of 10 for heavier mixtures such as cake mixing. These beaters are more of the latter. Although all the pivot points have plastic joints, the wheel itself has a fair amount of resistance. The inside of the handle only makes it more difficult to hold in a steady manner. This is not to state that the beaters are not a useful tool , as it certainly performs the function it’s designed for, just not as smoothly as other designs. Frankly as something to put in our camping tool pouch, perfect. If for no other reason owning one of these beaters is really good for those small jobs one doesn’t want to pull out that 25 pound electric mixer/

- Reviewed in Canada on February 21, 2025Verified PurchaseIt was just what we were looking for to mix gravy and soups.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 12, 2025The idea was good, having a hand mixer with a mechanism to turn two mixing heads in coordination. Of course, it cannot beat a motorized mixer, but it sounded better than one you have to beat manually. The design seems also good: a handle to hold it strong and steady and a crank mechanism to turn two mixing heads mechanically.
The performance, unfortunately, is not as good. The crank mechanism is not smooth, it has some jumpy points, or rather, points that it slightly gets stuck. In addition, the mixer heads are thin and weak metal pieces. If you have something easy to mix, such as beating egg yolk, a non-mechanical beater is much easier to use. If you have something harder to mix, such as a thick dough, the mechanism is likely to get stuck and there is a chance that the mixing heads can bend or break.
I liked the idea, but the execution was not as good.

- Reviewed in Canada on February 25, 2025Verified PurchaseJunk. Fell apart before beating a single egg.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 2, 2025We were looking forward to using this stainless steel hand mixer partly because the are convenient and also because we liked the idea of a blast from the past. They were, as I recall, quite a bit heavier and worked very well compared to this version. This versio is very light and it's hard to get a momentum going. It feels a little flimsy, light and is quite a bit smaller than the older versions that worked very well. Disappointing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective egg beater
Verified PurchaseThis item was defective! After only a few uses, one of the beaters fell off on 4/19/24. I can send you a photo if you want to see it. I expect a refund or at least a credit!

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality - Buyer Beware
Verified PurchaseThis manual egg beater is very poorly manufactured. It’s impossible to turn the wheel with one hand and hold the handle with the other, which negates the purpose of the device. Also the wings are a thin, extremely flimsy metal. It is not worth owning, even if it was free. If I could rate it at zero stars, I would.
