Everything out of the box works, L R and subwoofer. Some of you complained the Bluetooth is severely underpowered. I didn't find it to be the case at all, Bluetooth is almost as loud as AUX connection. Which isn't very loud, however this is going to be a gift for my mom, and she has relatively underpowered speakers and subwoofer so it should be plenty. Knobs feel premium quality. The only cobs I see are the screw on caps are a little too lose after only two turns one came off and I almost lost it for good. And there is no L-R balance knob, but it can be controlled at the source. Good job.

Very good sound and build quality, plenty of power with the included ~100w total RMS power supply (108w adapter, and assuming ~90% Class D efficiency) using a pair of 8 ohm JBL Studio 620 speakers. I tested using a Bluesound Node 2i streaming into its analog input.

I also tried the Bluetooth interface, which is wide open / insecure but does sounds very good from my iPhone. There is no input selection, but if you disconnect Bluetooth it automatically swaps back to analog. Signal is also low enough without the antenna that it was choppy even a few feet away, so worries about a neighbor hijacking it (and streaming who knows what) if you remove it are likely low. I do like the fact this uses a more generic, wifi router-style antenna which can be pointed straight backwards, if you don't want the mini one sticking up from the back like the 20D Pro.

I tried this one after a 20D Pro, which arrived with a misaligned center detents on the treble control. Unfortunately on this model, there is no center detent on the bass or treble. I suppose they dodged that QC bullet, as I returned the 20D Pro for that build defect.

I bought this model vs the 30D Pro because of its 12v support, as I wanted it to use it to test generic 12v adapters at low volume. Unfortunately they use an abnormally large center pin, despite the standard sized barrel, to sabotage the use of generic power supply. This is a deal breaker for me, so I will return it and buy a higher end model since 12v adapter testing was my only motivation for downgrading.

As a side note for users driving a passive sub, flipping the wires on the sub output is the equivalent of a 0/180 phase switch. You should always test for the "loudest" state while running a crossover around 120hz or so, before trying to dial in your gain and crossover. The range of the sub crossover control is abnormally high, so I would start blending your sub gain with the knob at around 40% vs 50%+ for the best sound quality with main speakers that have any decent amount of bass on their own.

The sound is great when connected to a pair of Klipsh bookshelf speakers and a Mirage active subwoofer.

Massively under powered. The volume needs to be at 80%+ just to barely run two 6.5" speakers. I wasn't expecting concert volume, but certainly wanted (and needed) more power. I'm sending this thing back and will be buying a unit that outputs at least 100 watts per channel. Only buy the Fosi 30d if you're running 4" speakers (or smaller) and only need soft background noise. Otherwise, you will be disappointed.
