Upon taking both parts out I realize it was shipped broken, whoever placed it in the box snapped it in two pieces because its EASY to fold up if you pay attention. Looks like a great little piece of light weight equipment.. Hopefully the replacement that I have to wait 7 days for actually works.

I guess you get what you pay for. It doesnt have great tension, so even if you tighten it, it doesnt really provide great resistance and can get hot quite easily from my experience. I dont think I would buy this again, I'd probably just spend the money and get something that's a bit bigger and better that I'd actually be able to use and "enjoy".

The previous reviews are accurate. I purchased solely to get moving while sitting for long periods at school and it has done the job. Overall, it is an alright product and with some tweaks could be perfect for some.

Pros:
Highly portable, Lightweight, Monitor (although calories burned seem overestimated, I like that the monitor will pause with disuse and will resume upon continuation)

Cons:
The device needs a mat of sorts to keep it from moving on smooth surfaces although carpet is fine.
It is hard to put your feet in with shoes on, it fits snug on a size 9 shoe. You also have to bend over to adjust the pedal upright to place your foot in, which is fine for me but may be a problem for some.
The resistance is low, but it gets you moving. The adjusted resistance is a simple screw in bolt that's meant to slow down the axis of the machine for added resistance. I don't bother with it.
If you're tall, you may be disappointed if you actually plan to use this under a desk. My thighs hit the top so i have to adjust by leaning back which does not allow me to take notes, but in my school setting works well when I am listening and the pause function is great when I want to take a moment or two to jot down notes. If you plan to pull aside from your desk there shouldn't be an issue.

It was a conversation piece at school, and it prompted the instructor to get a DeskCycle for home desk use of which she says she loves. I think that if it were in a permanent space, I would of invested a little more money for a specifically designed desk bike.

I purchased this for my mother (>70) as a gift. She is diabetic and has neuropathy, so going downstairs and walking on the treadmill can be more difficult. She mentioned a friend that had a similar product, but it was more "permanent" (heavy and large) and she wanted something she could more easily put away.

I bought this not expecting much as it was a fraction of the cost of other similar items, but because it was foldable and light, I figured I'd give it a try (I knew if she couldn't put it away, it would be sent back immediately). To be clear, her intent wasn't to do some soft of cardio workout with high cadence and resistance, but to get a little casual exercise. She's had it a couple months now and it's still perfectly in-tact.

This was perfect for her. Note I haven't used this personally, but the pros and cons are based on her comments. Also, her goal wasn't a sort of "cheaper peloton-without-the-bike" type of experience - it was more to get the joints moving than the heart rate going.

PROS:
Very easy to use - easy to expand and fold
Small - fits easily under a chair or bed
Didn't slide or move around (she uses hers on carpet)
Is well-built/feels sturdy
She felt great about doing something for her health and joints while watching TV (ok, not product specific, but was a comment)

CONS:
N/A

SUMMARY
I'd say this is a great product for folks that are looking for some light exercise and aren't otherwise as mobile. The price is fantastic and (at least so far) is holding up well. The fact that it's light weight (easy to move) and collapsible are great benefits for people that don't want to see the equipment, don't have the room for it and/or certainly as a safety issue - getting it out of the way removes any tripping risk.

We had a Drive Medical pedal exerciser for many years, but eventually it sadly suffered metal fatigue and literally snapped in half. We tried replacing it with a cheaper model (big mistake) which we had to return because it was useless. We then bought the Drive Medical which although more expensive than some is great quality and much sturdier than cheaper alternatives. It provides gentle exercise and doesn't slide all over the floor. The metal parts can get quite hot during prolonged use, but there is a warning sticker so you are aware. We are very happy with our purchase.

Great Arm Bike! An Alternative to an Exercise Bike Post Knee Injury, Gentle on Bad Backs

I recently injured my knee, and was told I would be on crutches for 6 weeks. I normally use a Deskcycle for exercise, but with my injury that is out of the question for a while. I have been quite happy with this arm bike. It's not perfect in every way, but I still think it rates 5 stars.

I like it because I am able to keep exercising while my knee heals, it feels like am doing a worthwhile exercise (you can definitely break a sweat using this), and when I'm done it folds up very quickly and easily. You can pedal backwards (working on different muscles) and the counter counts both directions (some don't). I have back problems and my one big concern was that an arm bike would be jarring for my back, or would require bending forward in a way that my back wouldn't like - I am happy to say that using this arm bike has not bothered my back at all - there is no over-reaching or jarring motion. I can settle in to my desk chair with my back fully supported and pedal away. If I tighten the tension knob a lot, making it harder to pedal it does stress my back a bit, so I only tighten it some and focus on pedaling longer instead of harder. Even after I no longer need the crutches I will probably keep using this for my arms, it's easy to do and it's a good way to increase arm strength without compromising my back.

Why isn't this bike perfect? At first, right out of the box I couldn't get the display to work. I opened up the panel thinking maybe it had a bad battery, but the battery had just slipped out a bit in shipping. I re-centered it, and the display works perfectly now. The feet aren't super grippy on my slick wood desk, it slides a bit, but it's no big deal. The metal part of the pedals gets pretty warm after pedaling for 30 minutes or so, but I just don't touch the metal bits when I'm done. My hands are already a bit tender from the crutches, so the pedals are a bit too hard for comfort during a 30 minute session - I just added some wrist sweatbands to pad them a bit.

Word of advice - if you have a Fitbit, be sure you take it off before using the arm bike or it will seriously mess up your steps for the day. Ooops! I have a sticky note on my arm bike so I remember to take it off before starting. You can log your arm bike exercise as a Custom Activity on your Fitbit dashboard, and the readout on this arm bike gives you time and calories so you have everything you need to properly log it. I checked around on the web for calories used on an arm bike and this bike's count seems to come in at the correct range.

The whole thing. You cannot read the LED display properly. It is quite heavy & stiff to unfold. Wish I had not purchased it. I also see it has gone down in price. If I could of I would have sent it back.

This item is awful. I can only use it for a few minutes before it gets red hot. It can not even be put away until it has cooled down. I have slightly burnt myself a couple of times because I tried to put it away before it had cooled down enough.
