2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. My van has over 300 000KMS on it and I decided to do a transmission fluid / filter change. Looked at OEM filters but was too pricey for an old van. Purchased this filter based on some of the good reviews. With about 500kms after the filter / fluid change I'm happy with the purchase. No issues so far and everything is running great. I did not use the rubber pan gasket that was supplied nor did I change out the filter gasket that it comes with. I used a felpro transmission pan gasket instead and also left the original filter gasket as well. I just prefer not to use rubber gaskets. Just personal preference. The filter looks just like the OEM one and honestly build quality looks to be pretty good. Total install time was about an hour since but overall I'm happy I went with this filter. I would recommend!

    My 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan was shifting sluggishly at 160,000 kms (100,000 miles) I did some online research and changing the trans fluid and filter seemed like the solution. This filter and gasket bolted in and worked great, I would recommend watching a few you tube videos to make sure you are comfortable doing this yourself but the results were amazing, night and day difference on performance. I had two older minivans before, 2003 and 2005, with the different transmission and i did not realize my newer van with the 62TE transmission was slower shifting until I drove a friends van and seen the difference. 鶹 also sells Mopar synthetic transmission fluid which I purchased at the same time, 6 1 liter bottles, for about $150 total it woke my van up. I tow a utility trailer and a bigger tandem trailer and I have had no issues, well worth doing.

    Exactly what I needed. My town and country minivan started making a high pitch whine on acceleration. Searching a few places, I found out that the transmission filter is likely plugged. This was a very easy fix. Probably took me around 2 hours from beginning to end. The hardest part is getting the oil level right. You’ll need a transmission oil funnel and the oil level gauge. I saw some people recommend using black rtv. I bought it but didn’t bother using it when I read the directions to wait 24 hours before filling. The rubber gasket in this kit worked fine.

    One other thing to watch for. If you replace the round gasket adapter on the funnel (included in this kit), take care that it get started evenly. I used a 1” pvc pipe with a soft blow hammer, which fit perfectly. But it got started a little cock eyed and bent the circle gasket. I had to buy another filter locally just for the round gasket. Take your time and get it seated straight before banging it home.

    Works great! Easy, direct install on my 2013 Chrysler Town & Country. You will need a torx bit to remove the screws holding it in. I didn’t change the metal fitting in the transmission that it comes with; I didn’t see any need to. The gasket it came with was thick, pliable, and good quality. I used Permatex Anaerobic gasket maker between the gasket and the pan to seal it up a little better.

    Great value. After adding 6 qts of Mopar ATF +4 ATF, the van shifts like new again. Also, get the dipstick to ensure your topped off at the right level. (The van’s don’t come with a dipstick, just a fill tube with a cap).

    Also, these transmissions need regular maintenance if you want them to last. No more than 50k miles between servicing. Especially since less than 1/2 the fluid is being replaced each time.

    Filter seems to be adequate. Skip the gasket, though. The factory used a thin bead of RTV. Once you remove the pan, clean and scrape off the old RTV. Then use a small bead around the pan perimeter.
    According to Google:
    Permatex Automatic Transmission RTV Gasket Maker (or Ultra Black) is the recommended sealant for transmission pans, offering high resistance to ATF fluid, heat, and vibration.
