    I bought this mostly for it's price point. I have a lot of scissors sitting around my house and I was tired of having to buy new ones because they never seem to keep their edge for very long anymore and they're getting more and more expensive each year.

    Started out with my embroidery scissors which were in the worst shape and sucked to cut thread with. It made a huge difference! That right there won me over. For the last couple of weeks, as I find another pair in the house, I've been sharpening them too haha. Even took it over to my Mom's to do hers, since they were in pretty bad shape too.

    The only complaint I have about it is, is that it's awkward to sharpen both blades at the same time. I know you're just supposed to be able to hold your scissors like you were cutting something and then run it over the ceramic pin in the sharpener, but I kept getting stuck. So I've found I'm just ending up holding one side of the blade and sharpening just that side at a time. It takes a bit longer, but it's more consistent that way, and I don't feel like I'm damaging anything.

    Just have to make sure if you do it one blade at a time, that it's flat against the plastic divider in the middle, so that your blade rubs against the ceramic pin at the proper angle.

    I bough this sharpening tool to try to revive the dozens of small cuticle scissors I've collected over the years. I can't say it did a good job at sharpening those, but the tool did work well on typical school scissors with thicker blades. It's a good emergency tool to keep in the craft box, but overall I think sharpening your scissors with sandpaper would work just as well.

    This is just a cheap household sharpener, nothing special. The sharpness it gives only lasts for a few uses, and then you're back to dull scissors. Its also way too small to handle properly, especially if you have large hands.

    The worst part is that it doesnt glide smoothly, and I almost cut myself trying to use it. Honestly, its more trouble than its worth. Spend a bit more for something better.

    This little thing works amazingly well. You just have to make sure to have the ceramic touching the right way and for me, I just press the top blade against the inner guard as I pull it through. I also found that I get more accurate results when I pull and make sure there's very little resistance. I fixed a 3 pack of cheap Chinese made scissors using this method.
