High quality pencils. Great set nice little assortment of colours
- Reviewed in Canada on February 8, 2025Verified PurchaseYou can’t go wrong other than you need the bigger pack. Do yourself a favour if you are a serious artist…..take the plunge and buy the 120 tin. These are the best quality pencils!
- Reviewed in Canada on October 18, 2020Verified PurchaseI cannot believe the quality and value of these pencils. For decades I used prismacolor softcore pencils. I switched to Faber-Castell polychromos in search of fade resistant pigments to illustrate my latest picture book Easter Morning, Easter Sun.
The pencils lay down perfectly, they do not shatter or smear. They have remarkable coverage and mix well with mineral spirits on watercolor paper. This is my new medium! I purchased one small set of 24 and 3 sets of 120 and a some extra greens and blues to render 12 double page spreads. I have only used up one 120 set and some of my extra singles!! 1 pencil can colour up 3 backgrounds... A
A balanced colour palette to suit many styles of drawing. All of the colours are named after painting pigments which really helps an artist identify desired colours. It's hard to believe that 120 colours satisfies my needs but they do!
Amazing product. A game changer. Well worth the extra cost because 1 polychromos pencil has better coverage than 6-7 prismacolor pencil. I can finally draw superfine detail. I wish someone had gifted these to me as a young artist!

- Reviewed in Canada on October 20, 2023Verified PurchaseColour me very happy! I'm no artist, but I am taking some informal art classes. The instructor recommended these particular pencil crayons as a starter set to learn how to use them. I was totally amazed at my first simple project with them - so easy to blend and the colours are fantastic. Worth the money.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 8, 2019Verified PurchaseI have been dying to get my hands on a set of these pencils but just couldnt justify spending so much so for my bday this year my step daughter bought me these! I think the pencils are great and prefer sn oil based crayon however the color selection in the 24 pack was odd? It had a few pencils that i really wouldnt use often and lacked the more common color choices :( i really wish for the amount you spend on these that you would beable to have most of the colors needed to make your other colors with mixing and layering
- Reviewed in Canada on October 3, 2023Verified PurchaseVery happy I found these on sale, too bad it was just the 24 count, they really are so awesome to work with, smooth and creamy, blending is effortless and vibrant colours but the price point takes them out of my budget for the larger sets even though they are worth the price.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 18, 2024Verified PurchaseThe are a beautiful coloured pencil set and the price for these was much cheaper than some of the art stores i saw it in. My daughter loved colouring with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best colored pencils I've ever used, hands down
Verified PurchaseI've been making art for well over a decade now, and I've never found colored pencils that work this well before. I've tried Prismacolor, Crayola, and other brands that aren't as well known like Star Joy, but none of them have even come close to comparing to the Polychromos.
They're creamy without being TOO creamy, they sharpen and hold a point well, and you can really build up the intensity of the color, something I've found more difficult with other pencils. It's easy to get get light washes or brilliant swaths of color depending on how much pressure you use.
The variety of colors in the 24 pack is perfect! There are enough options that you can make the color you want by layering but not so many options that it feels overwhelming. The metal tin is wonderful for storage too.
Honestly, I can't wait until I can afford to buy more of these. I cannot recommend them enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic pencils :). Tin case needs improvement.
Verified PurchasePackaging: Seller(MSGH)/鶹 needs to improve the packaging for such costly/fragile items. It came with just the 鶹 bag without any additional cardboard, etc for support due to which it was bent at few places. Luckily the pencils were not damaged.
Pros: (reference : Orange peel drawing)
1) Nice colors (24 set good price. @1690/- seller MSGH). Lays down very well on paper.
2) Blends nicely with Baby oil (Johnson's)
3) Layers very well if paper is good or we can use oils to blend in-between and layer over it repeatedly.
4) Works well over watercolour or other pencils like Derwent Coloursoft.
5) Set of 24, if mixed as combo of every 2 pencils can produce good range of colours as seen in the attached chart.
Cons: (Attached pics for bent tin)
1) Tin is very flimsy as noted by lot of others which doesn't help during shipping. But build quality is good since surface is very smooth without sharp edges.
2) White color is not very pigmented (compared to Coloursoft) but works for blending or when used with another colour.
Note: Though I own the Derwent Coloursofts (favourite) and Artists (less pigmented, difficult to work) , I wanted to try something different before trying out the "Costly in India" Prismacolors eventually and I wasn't disappointed with the Polychromos.
Definitely recommended 👍
