    This effective solution charges four Joycon controllers simultaneously. The two-piece design fits together quickly, forming a charging hub that sits conveniently in front of the Switch 2 dock. It’s secured by the dock's weight without pressing on the console, preventing scratches or marks.

    The quad charging strip connects to one of the two USB ports on the Switch 2 dock using a single, short USB cable. Once connected, you can either slide in a Switch Joy-Con or magnetically attach Switch 2 Joy-Cons. Each charging slot has an LED indicator that glows blue while charging and changes to orange when fully charged. Charging multiple controllers at once is incredibly convenient.

    It’s well constructed, complements the Switch 2 beautifully, and offers great value as well.

The Switch 2 joy cons snap in magnetically, and the ports are colour-coded the same as the Switch 2, so it's easy to install them to charge. The Switch 1 joy cons are a little trickier, but not too bad - they just basically slide into a groove on the bottom and then charge from there. Removing the joy cons when you want to use them is really easy (both types). You can charge a maximum of four joy cons at once.

    Power to this charging station is managed by plugging it into one of the USB-A ports on the front of the Switch 2 dock. There are lights to see when the controllers are charging, but they can be hard to see unless you're dock is oriented so the charger is facing you. The base includes holes to ensure things are still well-ventilated and your Switch 2 can stay cool.

    We had a very similar dock for the Switch 1, and it served us well for many years. This one appears to be the same basic concept with the exception that it supports the newer controllers. The design is good, and it does what's expected. Just be aware that it isn't a full Switch 2 dock - it works with your dock to provide options for charging additional controllers.

    I bought two of these - one for a Switch 1 and the other for a Switch 2. It sits well with both and charges up to 4 controllers for each just fine. All you have to do is rest the dock in a shallow inset for this charger and plug the USB cable into a dock port. I have bought a few other FastSnail products and they seem to do just fine with charging controllers.

The shell is semi-rigid—not hard plastic, but firm enough to protect against everyday knocks and light pressure. The interior has a soft lining, slots for 10 game cards, and a mesh zip pocket that easily fits a spare pair of Joy-Cons or a charging cable. The light grey lining is a smart touch—makes spotting things easier in low light.

    The case feels well-made overall, with smooth zippers and a sturdy handle. It's lightweight and compact enough to slip into a backpack, yet holds everything you need for travel or just keeping your setup tidy at home.

    A few small drawbacks: some users (myself included) noticed a strong plastic smell when first opened, but it fades after airing out for a day.     I'm not sure this dock is quite worth the full price as the design and quality is basic.

    I can't comment for NS1 as I own a NS2 but what I will say is my dock fits into the tray perfectly however since I know the NS1 is smaller it may be worth checking measurements first as the dock most likely won't be a snug fit - if that's what you want. Measurements of the tray are 20.5 x 5.4 cm.

    My joycons for the NS2 fit perfectly and feel secure when docked however the light indicators remain on at all times which I'm not keen on. There doesn't seem to be any way to turn them off besides unplugging the whole thing. A bit annoying really especially in a darkened room of an evening.

    Connected my Switch 2 dock to this. Charging station powers up fine. Put the controllers in and they charged. No complaints there.

    However, the Switch 2 joycons very weakly connect to this: you have to be really careful to seat them every single time. Unlike the Switch 2 connection where the magnets pull them in quickly, this charging station needs careful alignment.

    For the Switch 1 joycons, there's not a long rail to slide them down into like on the console. Just a small slot on the bottom where the very bottom portion of the joycons fit into. So again, it works but will need very careful attention when inserting them to charge.

    I wouldn't expect young kids to be able to seat these on their own, but it does do what it says on the tin.
