About the author

As a teenager, he participated as a student in a training group for the Physics Olympics. Although he had success in competitions in this discipline, he did not have spectacular results in the Mathematics Olympiads. He always missed a Mathematics training group. This extracurricular experience determined his professional future and motivated his line of work today.
Associate Professor at the Department of Basic Sciences (ZAB) at the Faculty of Animal Science and Food Engineering (FZEA) at the University of São Paulo (USP). He teaches Calculus II and IV subjects for engineering students and the courses ``Olympic Training in Mathematics for elementary and high school students'' and ``Olympic Geometry with GeoGebra'' for teachers and high-performance students.
Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Physics at the University of Havana, Cuba, in 1994 and 1996, respectively. Condensed Matter Diploma Course at the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics, in Trieste, Italy in 1997-1998. Internship at the Institute of Molecular Spectroscopy (CNR), Bologna, Italy in 1998-1999. PhD in Physics from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) in 1999-2001. 4-year post-doctorate (2002-2005) at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). Professional Master in Mathematics on a National Network (ProFMat) from UFSCar in 2019 and Free Professor in the area of Teaching Olympic Mathematics at FZEA USP in 2022.
