Few things,

I was under the impression the whole model was metal. It’s not. Just the scoop is metal, rest is plastic.

Tried all the controls, changed out batteries and still nothing. Only worked once and then stopped.

Also, the colour is not accurate. It’s not yellow as it should be, but a dark mustard brown colour.

Unfortunately will be returning. It’s too bad because my 2yo loves it and was really excited about it.

Good RC toys are expensive, but this one isn't! It's not perfect by any means but my daughter loves it! Her brother has a bigger one with a more complex control scheme, but the simplicity of this one makes it perfect for younger ones.
It is sturdy enough to be left in the hands of a kid, but I still remind her from time to time: don't play where adults walk and it should last a long time. She exclusively uses it in the house with a small quantity of kinetic sand so I guess it's easier on the toy than playing in the sandbox outside!
Batteries last long enough but you have to use a screwdriver every time you switch batteries or charge them.

I'm not a fan of the batteries that comes with the excavator as the charging wire are easy to lose, but assuming you will be able to not lose them and keep charging the batteries of the excavator, it's not a bad system per say. It comes with 2 batteries for the excavator so you can swap them, but again, I would have rather have a bigger (standard and replacable) battery in the excavator with a USB-C plug directly on the toy to charge.

With that being said, it works really well tho, it's just that with all those loose parts, I'm not sure how long it will be before something get lost and the toy can't be used anymore.

As for the controls, they are really responsive and works well, but the bucket is just a forward or backward motion. I wish it was possible to control at least the bucket independently. But I think that's the grown up me talking as my kids had no complaint about it being one continuous motion.

Overall a great toy which works well, just some concern about the durability in term of keeping all the parts together.

As a mom of three kids (10, 8, and 6), I’m always on the hunt for toys that can keep them entertained, and this remote-controlled excavator did not disappoint! My boys, especially my 8-year-old, couldn’t get enough of digging, scooping, and hauling dirt in our backyard sandbox. The toy comes with two rechargeable batteries for the excavator, which last about 30 minutes each, and AA batteries for the remote, so it’s ready to go right out of the box.

The controls are easy to use, and the excavator can rotate, move forward and back, and scoop dirt or sand realistically. While the bucket only moves forward and backward, it was more than enough to keep my kids busy and their imaginations running wild. They even paired it with other construction toys for a mini construction site!

The excavator feels sturdy with its rubber tracks and metal bucket, though some parts, like the remote, feel a bit less durable. I appreciate that the sound can be turned off (thankfully!), but swapping batteries does involve a screwdriver, which can be a little annoying. It’s on the smaller side, so it’s great for younger kids but maybe a bit small for older ones.

Overall, it’s a fun, engaging toy that’s well-made for the price. My kids had a blast, and I loved that it encouraged imaginative play without needing a screen.

Fun toy for kids! My nephew absolutely loved this remote control excavator. It came with 2x 3.7v rechargeable batteries for the excavator and 2x AA non rechargeable batteries for the remote control. It came with 2x 3.7v battery chargers as well. The excavator can run for around 30 minutes per battery. The controls enable you to move forward or reverse, turn left or right, and perform the action of excavating. The excavating has less control aside from reverse or forward of the excavating action. My nephew is able to scoop up sand in a pile, load it into his dump truck, and dump his load of sand in a new pile. Combined with his dump truck this keeps him busy for hours on end. It’s quite the construction site we have going on over here. I made him little construction signs, and got him miniature pylons and that’s been a lot of fun but back to the excavator. It has an led light, and a horn which he uses frequently. I’m not a fan of having to unscrew the panel to install or replace the batteries but it does keep it secure. The excavator is made fairly well with rubber tracks, and has handled multiple falls, crashes, and terrain. It easily scoops sand and dirt, more so when in a pile, even moved a rock almost as big as it. I’m impressed, my nephew is happy, and I would easily recommend this remote controlled excavator for young children.

My nephews love excavators and this one has a surprising amount of functionality for something this cheap. There is a fun demo mode too so as soon as you unbox it and put batteries in you can press that and the boom will spin around, and extend/retract the arm/bucket. Very mobile and my first time playing with a tracked rc vehicle, it's great.

Before I wrote this review, I reviewed the Product Description, and I have to say it is pretty accurate. Many of these types of toys have pictures for them that make them look much bigger than they are, and they don't even include the actual measurements. The description for this toy is honest, and the main point I'm making is that it is smaller than I was expecting it to be, but you can see this for yourself on one of the pictures. So, once I got past the small size of the toy, I started playing with it and found it to be pretty cool.

The excavator moves forwards and backwards, and when it goes backwards it makes the common beeping sound that trucks make when backing up in real life. It also makes some other general 'construction noise', which is a bit odd, like a gritty gear turning type of sound, but the good thing is that you can turn off all sounds with the push of a button on the remote. The cab of the excavator also rotates around, and like the product description says, it can go '680 degrees'...What they mean is that you push a button, and the cab rotates around ALMOST twice, until it gets to a point where it stops and then makes this sort of clicking sound that tells you it won't go any further. It does this either way you rotate it. The claw of the excavator extends and retracts, in the motion needed to scoop up something and then the opposite way to drop it, with the push of 2 different buttons. Overall, all of the controls are very simple and easy to operate.

The excavator IS smaller than I was expecting, but they do clearly advertise this if you look at one of the pictures, and it does work well, so for the most part it is a cool toy at a decent price of $25. The reason I took off a Star is because the cab of the excavator is solid enough, and the claw and bucket are adequate, but for some reason the tracks don't seem to be of the same quality as the rest of it and feel a bit flimsy/cheap, and I'd worry that they won't last as long as the rest of the parts.
