Instructions

  • For the base, mix all ingredients together well by hand.
  • Line 9-in tart pan with plastic wrap and press crust with slightly moistened hands.
  • Chill crust prior to filling, or dehydrate crust for 24-48 hours, chill, then fill.
  • For the filling, blend all ingredients in blender until completely smooth.
  • Pour into prepared crust and chill in freezer for at least one hour to set.
  • Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

No-Bake Vegan Cheesecake

Almond Date Crust

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 2 cups almond crumbs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons date paste (blend up some dates to make your own if needed)

Cheesecake Filling

  • 3 cups cashews soaked (at least one hour)
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • ¾ cup raw agave
  • ¾ cup coconut oil, melted
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon nutritional yeast
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ vanilla bean, scraped

Bottles not sealed securely, quality suspect
I received my order of 4 bottles of Everland Nutritional Yeast Flakes and when I opened the box, one of the bottles had somehow worked it way open in transit and spilled the entire contents inside the box. The bottles are supposed to have a secure secondary seal but on the open bottle and one of the other bottles that hadn't opened on its own, the seal was no longer adhered to the bottle. In terms of product safety and integrity, not a good sign of quality. Even if the bottle top had worked its way off, the secondary product seal should've still held tight, that's the whole point of it, to prevent contamination and to preserve freshness.

    I know nutritional yeast is popular amongst vegans but it's great for non vegans as well. I eat a plant based whole foods diet and I'm always looking for simple ways to give my meals that extra nutritional punch. Nutritional yeast is an excellent way to do that and you can literally put this stuff on anything. Nutritional yeast has a great cheese flavour and I love putting it on my scrambled eggs, salads, sandwiches, chicken, and soup.
