READ BEFORE BUYING THE COLLECTOR'S EDITION
The movie itself is great btw ! But this is a review of the Collector's Edition of the Blu-Ray, not the movie itself. If you want to buy this version of the Blu-Ray to have the movie in 4K, the rest of the review doesn't really apply. But if you want it to have a great Evangelion collectible to add to your collection, I'd recommend you buy the regular 1080p edition of the Blu-Ray for half the price and use the rest of the money you saved to buy something else. First of all, the box itself is a kind of layered white, with only the title of the movie on the front, written in the same color with a reflexive/glossy texture, so the only way to properly see the title is at an angle when it's exposed to a good amount of light. On the side, there is only the (3.0+1.11) and the Gkids logo written in the same way as the title, so when you put your box on your shelf (like I did in this picture), you can barely see what movie it is if it's not properly exposed to light. As far as physicals bonus goes, you get: - A bent 16.5" x 11.7" poster that's not even made out of glossy paper so the bending marks are super apparent. - A 28 page booklet with some fun artworks and 2 pages of information about the production - 5 art cards printed on cardboard, which look and feel like I expected. The shorts 3.0 films and most of the digital bonuses are on the regular edition of the Blu-Ray, so except if you're looking for a particular bonus feature, you should be covered by the cheaper version. So if you have a 4K TV screen and you want to watch the movie in the the best format possible, if you like the minimalistic look of the boxset or if you are looking for a particular bonus feature, this version is for you. But if you're a collector looking for a worthwile addition to their EVA library (like me), I think you should save a few bucks and buy the regular edition.
