- Reviewed in Canada on August 19, 2024Verified PurchaseMy old Canon Lide 210 scanner stopped working when Mac software changed to OS14, Canon does not support any 64-bit software and I do not want to use image capture. Epson supports all versions of Mac OS software with its drive and software. Epson Flat Bed Scanner is exactly like Canon Lide. The software is slightly different but works the same as Canon. The only hiccup is, as many others complained that the scanner turns off and is not reawaken when your Mac turns back on after sleep mode. You have 2 options restart the computer and the scanner turns back on or you cannot put your computer into sleep mode, on setting change it to do not sleep....Works great. Love the scanner and support. NOTE: your computer has to have a USB port, not a USB-C. Not sure if the adapter USB-USB-c works, have not tried it on my Macbook Pro laptop yet with a USB adapter.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 4, 2025Verified PurchaseThis product is perfect for occasional home usage, e.g. to scan some documents. It takes a few seconds to scan a 600 DPI page, so it is not convenient for scanning a book with many pages. The software is easy to install and convenient to use. To scan small card, the software can automatically crop the image. You can also easily stack multiple images side by side or top-to-bottom using the software. There is also an advanced stitching that automatically identify duplicated parts in more than one image and stitch them together, although I will not use this feature.
Another important issue is that the software may collapse when you scan many images at the same time before saving. So for safety, better scan one image and save immediately, unless you'll use stitching. For now this does not bother me much.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 27, 2025Verified PurchaseBought this to scan documents as well as pictures and it works very well!
- Reviewed in Canada on February 15, 2025Verified PurchaseI can't express how frustrating this scanner was. I bought it urgently to scan and submit important documents before a deadline, only to end up struggling with endless errors. The scanner kept displaying a communication error with the PC, making it completely unusable.
To make matters worse, Windows 11 kept crashing, generating massive memory dumps and adding to the chaos.
After multiple attempts to fix it, I had no choice but to return it and buy a new one—though I’m not even sure if the replacement will work any better.
We buy these devices to make life easier, not to create unnecessary stress and panic.
If I could give this a rating lower than zero, I would!
- Reviewed in Canada on January 19, 2025Verified PurchaseThe scanner is easy to use . It scans very well. I use it to scan watercolour paintings and it works well except for some of the really subtle paintings that have a lot of white at the edge of the images. But it's a good size and does the job.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 27, 2025Verified PurchaseIt’s a nice, neat little scanner however:
1. It is powered by a USB port. I have a block of USB ports, but it does not get enough power from that. I had to plug it directly into my laptop to get it to work so you are going to use up one of the USB ports on your computer just to use a scanner occasionally.
2. I spent a few hours of time getting it to work at all. You have to download the driver from the internet. These drivers are all listed alphabetically. I found the Epson V39 1 driver and downloaded it. After a couple of hours of fiddling around I decided to download the driver again. At that point I noticed that there is also an Epson driver V39 2. I downloaded this driver, and the scanner worked immediately.
Why isn’t this mentioned in the documentation or why isn’t the driver on an accompanying CD ROM as they used to be.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 29, 2024Verified PurchaseI am working on digitalizing our family photos, thousands of them! This has worked so well! I can scan multiple at once and it knows, it’s multiple so makes them each their own file. The scan quality is top notch, very clear! I would highly recommend this item, for scanning pictures! It’s been easy to use and great quality!
- Reviewed in Canada on June 5, 2025Verified PurchaseWorks as expected.
It would have been nicer if it had a USB C port as many of my other devices do. It has a microB USB port which is a bit finicky. For an device this big regular USB B port would also have been fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great scanner for the price!
Verified PurchaseSo far I have scanned over 4,800 images and I have been very pleased with the quality of the scans. Not only does it scan multiple images at once, it will often put them in the right direction. And it will still scan an image correctly even if it isn't exactly straight. Sometimes an image may need to be rescanned, but I found this to be only sometimes and with certain images over others. The 4x6 seemed to have the most rescanned and even those were not that many.
A few times the images on the scanner bed were scanned all as one image but that was very rare and I found switching to a different selection of images resolved the problem. This occasionally happened with black and white images. Swapping out one of the images for one of color always resolved the problem.
The scanner software, despite what some reported, works great for scanning the images and for simple cropping. I really like that you can continue to scan images instead of sending them to your computer after each scan. It makes the process much faster. Additional photo editing would probably best be done in dedicated software.
Despite the minor negatives I have mentioned, I still give it 5 stars because it honestly deserves it, in my opinion. No, it is not a professional scanner, but most of us do not need to scan our family photos in a professional scanner. The scans are clear and concise. Exactly what is needed.
The scanner is super lightweight and easy to store. And very convenient since it only needs to be connected to your computer and not to a power source.
I have had a lot of scanners over the years and honestly I was trying to avoid scanning all of my photos on a flatbed scanner, remembering how torturous it was to get the photo straight in the past. But I am so glad that I took the chance and made the purchase of this scanner.

Verified PurchaseEasy to use and adjust/edit old photos after you've scanned them. Just make sure you download the correct software according to where it came from (US), not where you live (for international customers).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent simple hi definition scanner
Verified PurchaseThe scanner was simple to install onto my network and provides hi quality scanning of documents. I havent as yet used for scanning photos so cant comment on the resolution but if anything as good as documents then it will be excellent for saving those old photos.
