Arcade sticks are hard to learn. You have to relearn all the muscle memory, where everything is, and it will be frustrating. Could even take a long time to get fully comfortable. Did for me. Now I can't go back.
But it's worth it. Not only do you stand out from everyone else rocking their dualshocks, not only do you can you use the same fightstick for every game on (just about) every console, but it also convinces you that you're a better player than you are.
You aren't.
I had to learn that the hard way.
But that's okay. As the title (a quote stolen from Maximilian Dood) says, if you have a touch of derringdo, then definitely consider it. Arcade sticks are the most tactile way to pay fighting games. Slamming the stick, slapping the buttons. Sounds and feels excellent.
Solid construction, quality parts, wide compatibility, the only minor gripe is the aesthetics, but you can always slap on a skin. Can also fit on your lap comfortably. This size is the perfect middle ground, as it's not cramped to use, and the portability is passable (considering).

It's not too small, so those who are on the fence between this and the F500 need not worry. I do like the F500 more, though, for the compartment to hide the cable or take up the slack.

Joystick is the clicky kind...this is pretty much the norm, but not something I like. Buttons were what I expected of Sanwa.

Ended up choosing to build my own with the parts I wanted, as I didn't need a universal joystick (only needed for PC).

If you want to play some classic arcade games and fighting games on the latest platforms without breaking the bank, then this is the arcade stick for you. Right out of the box it works with Xbox One, PS4, PC (MAME) and any other platform that takes a USB input. It is sturdy, well built, and can be placed comfortably on your lap or desk without slipping. It does not emit any heat from the bottom so its pretty safe to rest on your lap.

This stick can be easily modded to a 4-way with help of online videos so you can enjoy classics like dig-dug or pac-man. I'm a casual gamer so for me, it suits my needs. There are sticks out there, which are upwards of $200+ and some that are platform specific. Aesthetically, it may not look as slick as some other more expensive sticks out there but it can be easily remedied with some great decals from sites like decalgirl.com.
