The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging. What’s in the box: one (1) pair of 8.27-IN straight jaw electrical connector disconnect pliers, one (1) pair of 7.28-IN angled jaw electrical connector disconnect pliers, one (1) electrical connector disconnect puller, and one (1) set of seven connector pin pick keys.

If you work around vehicles and heavy equipment long enough, almost everyone has been in that dreaded situation where you struggle in a tight spot to get an electrical connector to release, and due to the awkwardness, you break it…. Now no more! This tool will be the answer to your prayers! Where has this tool been all my life?!

First impressions: Effective. Quick and simple to use. The fit and finish are decent but not on par with a high-end air of name-brand pair of pliers; however, it is more than adequate for the function intended. The pliers have a long reach, great accessibility ability and a non-slip coating on their handles. They came shipped lightly oiled and in a plastic sleeve for corrosion protection.

How does this product perform? Like a dream. Where has this tool been all my life?! It sure makes a difficult job a lot easier.

Cost-effectiveness and value: At a current price of $22.99 plus a 5% off coupon, I feel that this is great value for the quality delivered. It’s a no-brainer for the heavy equipment mechanic or weekend warrior; at this price, it’s a handy tool set in your arsenal.

Recently I was struggling to remove the electrical connector for the mass air flow sensor on my 2013 Ford Edge 3.5 liter engine. A neighbor lent me his name brand 37980 tool, and it worked fairly well. (It turns out the 37960 from this set allowed easier access when I tried it). If you search 37980 in amazon.ca you can figure out the name brand.
On amazon, the name brand 37980 is currently $42.00, the name brand 37960 is currently $34.95, the name brand 13120 is currently $17.16 for a total of $94.11.
This set is currently around $22 (after coupon), and includes a set of set of terminal pin removers. So less than 25% of the cost of the name brand. Very subjectively I would say that the quality/fit/finish is 90 - 95% that of the name brand, and more importantly I would say that these tools are much stronger than they need to be. Highly recommended.

Picked these up because I have been struggling with disconnecting the old connectors on my VW GTI, so far these have been a great set of tools to have.

Before using these, I had to use a mini flathead to hopefully disconnect the old and brittle spark plug connectors and risk breaking the clip on them. Now using these they line up exactly where the structural part of the connector is and comfortably lift the clip allowing a smooth and easy disconnect.

So far I have used these for spark plug connectors, MAF sensor, diverter valve connector, and headlight wires and have been greatly impressed by the quality and functionality of this kit.
This is a must have kit for DIY'ers working on cars with brittle or hard to remove connectors!

Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with how they perform. The pliers do exactly what they’re supposed to—disconnecting electrical connectors without much hassle. One small issue I noticed is that the spring-loaded pliers feel a bit sticky at the spring, but it’s not a dealbreaker and doesn’t really affect their functionality.

What I really appreciated was the packaging. Each tool came wrapped in a plastic bag that covered the metal parts, which had some manufacturing grease on them. That thoughtful touch kept the grip handles clean and oil-free right out of the box, which is something I wish more tool sets did. For the price and the variety of angles included, it’s a handy set for both DIYers and anyone doing regular automotive work.

I used them while replacing a failed HID ballast, and instead of struggling with stuck headlight connectors, I was able to pop them off cleanly without damaging the clip or the wiring. The added leverage really makes a difference.

What I liked:
Makes stubborn connectors easy to remove
Prevents damage to clips and wires
Solid leverage and comfortable grip

Other thoughts:
Would’ve loved a case or holder for the set
