Product description

Lugol's Solution of Iodine 2% ePothex Lugol's solution 2% percent, now available over the counter in a convenient 60ml bottle. Formulated with a precise blend of iodine and potassium iodide, our USA sourced Lugol's solution is made with premium ingredients, delivering quality in each drop. Each vertical metric drop, 1/20 ml, is approximately 1mg of iodine and 2mg of potassium iodide. The iodide portion of potassium iodide accounts for about 75%, delivering approximately 1.5 mg of iodide per drop. Each drop provides a total of 2.5 mg of iodine and iodide combined. 2 drops will deliver approximately 5mg's (2mg iodine and 3mg iodide), offering savings compared to iodine and potassium iodide tablets. Uses: 60ml (2oz) Dropper Bottle with safety cap. Approximately 1200 vertical drops per 2 oz. container. To use as a water purifier, add 4-6 drops per liter of water. Storage: Store at room temperature out of direct sunlight. No refrigeration required.

    I thought this was going to be one of those elixirs that taste great straight from the bottle but while it is edible I do not recommend taking it straight-I have heard great things about the use of iodine and it's connection to the thyroid, and though I can't report any health benefits associated with taking this supplement, I will report that it seems to work for me.

    I ordered the ePothex Lugol's 2% Solution due to the touted protective effects of this tincture. The tincture is comprised of 94% purified water, 4% potassium iodide and 2% iodine. There are no other ingredients. The top of the bottle is shrink wrapped for safety, comes in a glass bottle and has a glass dropper. The glass bottle and dropper doesn't leaching anything into the product, like plastic can, and ithe bottle is brown in color to protect the tincture from light degradation. The tincture itself is dark brown in color. The product tastes terrible, but that was expected, as the only ingredients are water potassium iodide and iodine. It also burns your tongue a bit, so you may wish to mix the product with some water or juice.

    The label is very simple, easy to read and high quality. On the label, you will find the company's name, address and website and the lot number and expiration date are printed on the bottom of the bottle. The bottle contains 2 fluid ounces / 60 milliliters. There is no serving size and the bottle has a note that states "sole responsibility of the user to determine the appropriate use".

    Overall, compared to other products I have used, this product is top quality, hands down. There is no unnecessary additives, the company adequately identifies itself on the bottle and product is well packaged in a way that doesn't leach anything in the tincture and protects it from degradation. Five stars.

    I like to have Lugol's iodine on hand and needed to renew my supply. I'm trying a few drops a day of this 2% version in r.o. filtered water and find I'm experiencing a release of energy, a big positive. I take a number of supplements but have not experienced this type of response to date. The dropper on this bottle is very precise so it is easy to count droplets and dose precisely. The packaging showed a small amount of leakage in shipping around the rubber bulb; these squeeze bulbs can leak when tipped, so not unexpected, and the bubble wrap which sticks to the bottle caught this slight leakage near the source.

    I like that this version is described as 'pharmaceutical grade or higher', although on the product and product page no more information is given regarding how this is assessed. This is USA sourced and is USP grade from an FDA registered supplier which increases my confidence in this product. The brand website listed on the bottle describes a small family business which grew out of a compounding pharmacy. The label is minimal but attractive and gives key info. More can obtained at the website.
