    Neptune 3 Max, usually I just order the complete extruder when I have a major failure on my printers... Not too expensive and very quick to change out. This time I tried just replacing my actual Hot End after a massive loss of adhesion resulting in the Blob of death!! I was able to remove most of the mess which prompted me to try replacing just the actual hot end. Boy!!, What a piece of cake that was. I pulled up one video of Youtube and couldn't have been easier. This will be my preferred method from now on. Not only was it easy to do, but the cost was 1/3, time wise about the same so no problem there. Only down side is my extruder fan was also clogged, but I didn't see it till too late, now I am waiting on a replacement fan, but that's my bad for not looking at it all!! Still learning !!

    TLDR: 1/3 the price of complete unit, same amount of time to install as complete unit, not complicated at all!! A definite win for this 62 yr old!!
