Just received my vacuum, and it looks s NOT a new vacuum, it arrived USED! Very disappointed! I have allergies and can not guarantee what kinda of dead skin cells, pet dander and first what in this thing before it arrived! Do NOT recommend!!!!

    I have been a Dyson owner for over a decade, so when it was time to replace my old Dyson with a new one, I did not hesitate to purchase the same model. I HATE IT. Dyson, what have you done to this vacuum? It is heavy, clunky, and it sucks - yeah, sucks so much that I have to put it on low or I cannot move it. I dust on low and it lifts my DVD player and anything that is not permanent attached. It has made my cleaning day one that I dread. Do not recommend this Dyson vacuum at all!

But I used the Dyson right after vacuuming a spot with the old one. I couldn't believe how much it picked up then! And I found out I'd forgotten the true color of my carpet! So far I'm very pleased.

    I gave it four stars because it cleans my carpets like no other vacuum I have owned. I have a dog that sheds a lot, and this vacuum sucks it all up.
    Pros: Strong suction, good brush head, excellent upholstery tool for doing furniture.
    Cons. Hose is very very awkward to use, so makes many of the tools that come with it useless. I wrestle with it enough to be able to make use of the excellent upholstery tool. But for the others I kept part of my old vacuum that is much easier to use.
    Could use a hook for securing the cord while in use so I don't have to hold onto the cord all the time.

    So overall very strong suction and does an excellent job on carpets and upholstery. But some major design flaws that can make it awkward to use. I would highly recommend if you have pets that shed a lot. Otherwise I am lukewarm. My old vacuum, while not as strong and not as good an upholstery too, was much better designed.
