    Over my 50 years of almost daily sewing, I have used other elastics for other non-clothing sewn projects, but for waistbands in pants, skirts, etc, this is top quality. I've repeatedly bought Dritz elastic for time/labor intensive clothing projects. It is soft against skin, the rubber lasts longer, machine needle glides through without snagging, sews up without problems, has a maximum stretch length at about twice the cut length. For every 8 inches of waist size you'd use about 6 1/4 to 6 1/2 inches of this wide elastic, any less would be too tight and would cause the elastic to wear out faster.
    This is the one, the only one I will use in clothing for repair mending or in new clothes construction. Dritz is the ritz.
    I'm thinking of using Dritz 3/4 inch wide elastic on the edges of my resewn fitted sheets which I modify for a 6 inch mattress because those sheets are hard to find to buy. I like tight sheets without wrinkles.
