    Decided to try this for fungus gnats on indoor plants and have already reordered more as they work soooo well! IT GETS RID OF 99% OF FUNGUS GNATS!! Why didn't I find this sooner!!! First, my indoor plants are annual flowers and a few of houseplants. Some plants were brought inside over winter and others are started from seed or cuttings. I am way too lazy to try and water all of my plants and seedlings from the bottom which is the best for fungus gnat control. I do use sticky traps as well but now there is only the odd one flying around.

    For the last couple of years, I used Mosquito Dunks. The Mosquito Dunks always help a good amount but it couldn't quite get rid of them all. I would have the dunks in multiple watering jugs and use those jugs to water the plants. I found that if I filled the jugs with water and watered the plants right away it wasn't very effective so then the better method was to fill the jugs with water and a broken dunk in it and let it sit until the next watering. I would still have quite a few fungus gnats after using this water.

    I tried the Doktor Doom larva killer and WOW!!! It made such an incredible difference where I only have the odd fungus gnat flying around after a couple of weeks. These bricks dissolve a lot faster than the dunks. I no longer need multiple watering jugs. I drop a brick in the jug, fill with water and immediate water the plants. If you fill the jug to fast you may get some foam at the top of the water from the brick. I leave the brick in the jug when I'm done but make sure I've drained excess water out so the brick is still there next time I water. I no longer need multiple watering jugs but most of all .... IT WORKS ON FUNGUS GNATS!!!!

    Now that I have the situation mostly under control, I will water with the Doktor Doom bricks every couple of weeks where as I used the Mosquito Dunks with every watering.

    I had an infestation in my indoor plants. I was changing the yellow sticky pads DAILY at one point as they got covered in adult gnats every day. Finally couldn't take it anymore and gave this product a try. I wasn't able to crush the brick so I dissolved a whole one overnight in about 1 litre of water. Since that is way too concentrated, I then poured a small amount, like maybe 50-100ml) into another 1 litre watering can then filled the rest with water to dilute it, then gave the soil in each of my plants a good soaking. I installed all new yellow sticky pads at the same time so I could judge how many gnats I still had after treatment. HUGE improvement immediately. A week later, all sticky pads had maybe 5 or 6 gnats on them, and my plants were showing no stress so I know it is safe for them. I just gave a second treatment yesterday (a week later), to hopefully kill any that were missed. I'm so glad I tried this; I will use it again in the future as for sure I'll have gnats again at some point.

    Not sure if this works yet as I haven't tried it but it bothers me that it's a chemical. The last Mosquito dunks I bought were not toxic to animals or humans. This stuff is.

    This is exactly what I wanted. It worked perfectly to get rid of fungus gnats I had been battling in my 20+ houseplants for months.

    Like other reviewers, I have a hard time breaking up the bricks, so I put one in a ziploc bag and smashed it with a hammer. I took one tiny crumble and dissolved it overnight in approximately 3.5L of water. Then I added a tiny amount of that water to my regular 1L watering can and used that to water all my plants at the same time. It’s been a week and I haven’t seen any signs of fungus gnats anywhere. I also put out yellow sticky traps in every area where I keep plants and haven’t caught a single gnat in any trap.

    Highly recommended!

    This item is absolutely great for getting rid of fungus flys in house plants. I looked around for a product and tried all the home remedies. Home remedies do not work. I read the reviews on this site. People recommended this product, so i tried it. Two or three waterings and they are gone. For more info see some of the other reviews. Just one note that i agree with. Break a piece of that big table, maybe less than a quarter of it, put it in a container with water to soak overnight. Then use this to water plants. You will see it is quite concentrated so you can dilute it. It works. Thanks to all the other reviews.
