DOGTEK’s Sonic Birdhouse has the appearance of an ordinary birdhouse but in fact, it’s a state of the art bark control device the uses high-pitched ultrasonic sound technology to deter unwanted barking from either your or your or your neighbor’s dogs!

How does it work?
When the DOGTEK Sonic Birdhouse is within range of a barking dog, the internal microphones sense the barking and the unit is triggered automatically.
The DOGTEK Sonic Birdhouse emits an ultrasonic sound which is heard by dogs but is not detected by humans.
The dog will stop barking when The DOGTEK Sonic Birdhouse emits it high-pitched, safe and effective tone.
The dog will begin to associate their bark with this unpleasant noise. When the dog stops barking the ultrasonic tone will also stop.
The DOGTEK Sonic Birdhouse has 3 sensitivity levels and a test mode to choose from. It is effective up to 50 feet.

Possible Uses for the DOGTEK Sonic Birdhouse:
Stop your barking dog.
Stop your neighbor’s barking dog.
Train puppies not to bark.
Deter barking dogs on camping trips and when you are on the go.

Operates using 6 AA batteries (not included).

    My neighbor's yard runs parallel to mine so his two dogs have the ability to run beside the entire length of my yard as well with only a chain link fence separating them and they bark along with all of the other neighbor's dogs when they are in the back yards. I don't have a problem with the dogs barking but when you have to get to sleep to get up at 4am it can be a bit much when they let their dogs out at 11pm. They bark once and the sound emitted by the bird box silences them right after. This thing works great and looks like a bird box.

    This absolutely is a product you should never buy. It does not work. It doesn't emit any noise and my dogs (I have 2 a German Shepherd and a 35 lb Beagle) Neither of them even noticed the thing. I even tested it on the neighbours dog. Again it did not do anything at all as it described. Not worth buying. My description of not doing anything is that when you place batteries in it and turn it on (it lights up) when dogs bark its supposed to light up and turn on depending on the setting. I even tried on the highest setting. Nope nothing.

    The item was purchased as a means to help limit the reactive barking at the window to movement in the street such as people walking by, rabbits on the front lawn, wind blowing leaves about, and any other thing he deems worthy of such attention.

    This was my personal experience with the product. Placed item no more then 12 feet away from dog, pointed right at him. Turned it on at highest setting. Dog barked, detected it, paused briefly then barked again, detected it again, paused again, and subsequently ignored it. Barking resumed.

    Received my bark control birdhouse and thought it was going to be a godsend. Placed it around 10 feet from barking dogs and it seems to work great for the first couple of weeks. About a week before the return date it basically quit working, the dogs were barking all time. Checked the batteries and they were still good but replaced them anyway. Didn't seem to make a difference, and of course now it is past return date. For short term it is fine but more than 30 days it is a waste of money. I guess the saying is true you get what you pay for. Since there is no way for me to test it to make sure it is still working I spent $25.00 for nothing.

    I tried this out in my front room where my dogs watch the street and crazy bark at ANYTHING that strolls by. I guess my 3 dogs are a bunch of pansies because one bark (on the low setting) and all three came sprinting out of the room. My pit mix ran straight outside with all his hair raised and refused to come in. My terrier ran to me on the couch and tried to hide underneath me while shaking and panting. And my hound ran into the guest room and attempted to hide under the bed. I am gonna have to find a way to ease them into it I guess. I just don't want them to insanely bark at a kid riding by (they sound like they are busting thru the window at them. But I don't want them to be traumatized and hiding. So I will attempt to trying some more with it but its likely I will have to send it back.
