Try this before you have your period. It takes a couple of tries to get it in the right spot and if you try first, you won’t have to worry about a blood bath on your hand. This goes up high, as in you’re going to have to get way up there. Once it’s in, you won’t feel it. If you can, you need to push it up further. Bearing down or scrunching up your muscles will push against it and inserting will not be possible. To retrieve it, reach high, high up, hook your finger on the little loop and pull while gently pushing with your muscles. This is small, you’re not pushing out a baby. Be prepared to ease it out, keeping it parallel to the floor to avoid any spills. I highly suggest you don’t use it if you’re couching or sneezing a lot. Also, long fingernails don’t feel pleasant.
The cleanser works well. I use it after I empty the disc each time.
I had a cup before and never felt comfortable with it. This is so much more comfortable.
I have a heavy flow, normally changing my heavy flow pads every 2-3 hours. I empty this every 8-10 hours. Best of all, there’s no funky smell from a pad.
Update: apparently my flow was lighter when than usual last month. This month has been a bloody mess, my hand looks like a slasher horror film when I remove it. 10-12 hours of with a heavy flow and I still don’t have any leaking. I can’t imagine doing this in a public bathroom.
