I purchased these lights for my art studio. I liked the idea of being able to change the vibe whenever needed. Unfortunately I ended up returning them because the white light setting was too dim for me. The colours were fun and the remote made it super easy to use and change the settings. But for an art studio the light I needed most of the time wasn't bright enough. Super bummed because the rest of the settings were great! Easy install, easy to use and pretty colours.

I have these in my living room. there is a remote to control the lights on or off and/or change colour. At first, I was worried I would lose the tiny remote but so far so good. I tend the leave the lights on white but later in the night switch em up and make them into a relaxo-chill mode. These do not work with Smart things hub directly. I removed my other Gu10 bulbs and replaced with these and had no issue. All worked perfectly. Any issues I had could be resolved by pointing the remote closer to the bulbs you'd like to change and correcting it that way if needed.

FYI.. for those using home automation: my zwave light switch still does connect to my smart things hub but the led-light works best when that light switch is set to 100% before dimming the bulbs using the remote. If the light switch doesn't provide 100% power.. the led bulbs flicker when at a lower power level

These lights are awesome. I had LED's before on my dimmer switches, and they did not work. These LED's have a dimmer setting so can be bright, medium or dimmed. Which is enough reason to buy these anyways, but they also change colour & are awesome. They are about as expensive as regular light bulbs, so is a no brainer. I ordered another set, and may order more. Very cool, happy with the purchase.

I got these when my 4 year old Noma lights began to die on me. I have a 6-light fixture I installed in my pad long ago. Figured for how expensive the GU10s are - it's all the same whether to get white lights or color changing ones so I might as well go for the latter. It turned to be a mixed bag and I'm not too impressed. These are great for creating mood lighting in your pad for parties, etc. However, as white color overhead lights which you expect to enable you to see clearly and find things, - these are way too dim. It says 40 Watt equivalent, but I'm not sure how this could be true in the literal sense, - meaning how it translates to luminosity (granted their efficiency is roughly the same which is probably not the case). I had a 40 watt equivalent Noma single color white GU10s before (last two photos for comparison) and they are almost twice as bright as these ones when switched to white, and the light is lively, closer in temperature to sunlight. These here produce dull white light that is no brighter than 25-watt equivalent 12 volt G8s in my bedroom.

Finally we arrive at a second elephant in the room (and it's definitely not my comfort animal): - if you think each remote control is to control a set of 3 as indicated in the photos, - boy you'll be in for a surprise. All 6 respond to both remote controls, and what's worse, - they output different colors when you press the same color button. I press light blue and 2 turn blue, - while the third - turns violet/purple. You can individually control each one too, but easier said than done. It will only work (somewhat) if you have long steel funnels at the end of your sockets which these almost completely slide inside like in my photos. Then in order to control just one light, - you need to pivot all other lights away from that one, - in order to put a layer of steel between them and your remote control, so they don't all react at the same time. Then you have to do similar pivoting for each of the remaining five, - which is a real chore. At least they can remember the color they were left in last time... I hope? sigh. And it's definitely not me mixing up the remote controls. I marked "N" (for North) with gray washable marker on the remote control that was supposed to control the 3 lights on the Northern side of my living room and "S" for Southern side so as not to get confused. According to the manual - these cannot be dimmed with dimmer switch, only with remote. I do but wonder if dimming them with remote will work the same way as for dimmer switch controllable lights - that is considerably extend their rather miserable 3000hr lifetime? Dimmer switches can extend the lives of both incandescent and dimmable LED lights and lightbulbs 8 - 10 times as unbelievable as that sounds, - it's a cure for planned obsolescence. But with these - there isn't much room to dim them, they are already way too dim as is... If I'll find a brighter option I will be returning these.

Addendum: Came home today to find one of the bulbs started randomly changing color. Remote controls were in a closed box were I keep them so it's not as though I accidentally pressed the remote color change button. It did it on its own. Likely reacted to the neighbors' remote for RGB or the TV...
