? The package contained three long length but portable stainless steel extensible back scratchers. All of them use the same pole design and each had different claws. The build and materials quality of the product was very good. There were no metallic burrs nor sharp edges.
? The telescopic poles maintained their position when in use. Hopefully that will remain the case 1000 extension/contraction cycles later.
? The "scary" claw was particularly fun and surprisingly satisfying.
? If required, the scratcher claws were very easy to keep clean. Skin protein residue (if applicable to you) was very easy to wipe off.
? The rubberized foam grips were found to add a feel of significant control and perhaps luxury for each scratcher. Many scratchers on the market do not have grips.
? No meaningful off-gassing odor was detected from the foam grips.
? Very good value. Three quality and large scratchers for $9.99 Cdn during this review plus a vendor discount coupon worth $1.00.
? One scratcher claw was enameled gloss black. I am not sure how durable that finish will be with use over time and directly on [oily] skin surfaces. Anyway, this is not a major issue - just a lame judgement.
NOTES:
* The foam grip helps a lot in maintaining orientation of the scratcher when using it. The long term concern might be inconvenient should the grip material decide to breakdown to a black goo in a few years. It would only affect the grips and they can be cut off leaving the functionality of the scratcher. But when new, the grips are useful.
SUMMARY:
These are not your dollar store scratchers. They are slightly above that standard, at least in my market region. As you get older, things like these will be of great convenience.
