- Reviewed in Canada on June 13, 2025Verified PurchaseI normally don't unwrap my movies/shows until I actually want to watch them and was going to keep my steelbook sealed, but after seeing some of the reviews, I wanted to double check my copy for that disc 1 and 3 swap issue. Turns out my set was ok, phew. So it seems like the problem might have been with an certain batch specifically. Otherwise, I find the steelbook to be priced fairly for a 10 episode season, considering the steelbook packaging is only slightly more expensive than the regular edition.
- Reviewed in Canada on July 5, 2025Verified PurchaseI loved the original show and this showed up how he became the way he did and it still had funny moments.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 27, 2025Verified PurchaseThis came in MINT condition unlike previous DVD / Games / Steelbooks that always came damaged

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good and watchable.
Verified PurchaseIt's well worth watching if you need suspense, a bit of violence that's not too graphic, and intrigue, though as we already know that this young Dexter grows into a fully fledged serial killer we also know that he gets away with it.
Acting is believable throughout with the young actor playing the titular character quite compelling. The other actors playing the young versions of established characters are also good especially Dex's sister in the Jennifer Carpenter role.
You might ask if we needed another version of Michael C Hall ---- when played like this it's very entertaining and compelling.
English subtitles on this version plus a bonus feature. Hopefully season 2 will be as good.
Confirm that one of the discs is mislabelled.

5.0 out of 5 stars MANUFACTURER'S ERROR!
Verified PurchaseBeware of mistitled discs! My 3-disc set came with 2 identically titled discs. The first and the third were labeled "Disc 3" and were identical on their faces. I put in the first disc without reading the surface info. It was the actual third disc. Before panicking, I put in the last disc (identically labeled as the Disk 3 like the one I had just put in) and it turned out to be the actual Disc 1 ! In other words: the first disc was labeled Disk 3 and actually was Disk 3. The second disk was correctly labeled. The third disc, also labeled Dis 3 was actually disc 1. So the set is complete, just frisky (thank God.)

1.0 out of 5 stars DVD's are mis-marked! Disc 1 is Disc 3, and Disc 3 is Disc 1! Check yours immediately!
Verified PurchaseMy review is about the DVD media, NOT the show. Just got my DVD's today! I went to watch it, popped in Disc1, and the menu shows Disc3. I looked at the episode titles and sure enough, it's Disc 3 content. I put in Disc 3, and it shows Disc 1 Contents. Disc 2 appears to be correctly marked. I'm about to start watching, and HOPE the content is correct. This is absolutely horrible quality control on a BRAND NEW RELEASE!

5.0 out of 5 stars How many returned this for a refund or replacement?
Verified PurchaseThis rating is based only on incorrect naming of Disk 1 & 3...
Disk 3 is actually 1 and Disk 1 is Disk 3...
Once I watch the series, I'm certain I will like it as much as the original which is a 5 Star...
I rip the episodes and watch them in PLEX...
I currently have 1098 (& counting) TV Shows ripped to watch in PLEX. Lot more fun than
than getting up and changing a disk... BTW that is approximately 4392 episodes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Young Dex
Verified PurchaseI enjoyed seeing more Dexter. I wished it had more than 10 episodes, but the set was still worth it. Something people should know: Disc One is labeled Disc 3, and Disc 3 is labeled Disc one. Disc 2 is disc 2. So if you switch 1 and 3 you'll be able to watch them in order.
