Fight raccoons in audible mode.

This product did what I wanted it to do: scare away the raccoons in my attic. I only use it in sound mode, with the volume turned up. The unit is located in the loft space above our middle bedroom, next to my kids' room. She has a pretty loud air purifier, but you can hear one of the highest frequencies in her room. I may need to turn the volume down a little bit or tune up that frequency. You can definitely hear it in the room it's in and the adjoining bathroom. In my bedroom down the hall I couldn't hear it due to a large pedestal fan. To reiterate, I haven't tried the ultrasonic mode at all. I have struggled with raccoons for many years. I've got them stuck. I sprayed the attic with ammonia. The ammonia works for about a day - maybe - and then they come back. I haven't heard a raccoon since I put this unit in the attic. I mean, it sounds like a stampede happens every day. They've got a bunch of people, and they're running like crazy. Now they are gone. Good enough for me.

Bought it back in April. It cannot be set until the snow is gone. I've been running it for about 3 months now. I bought it to keep the neighbor's cats off my patio. I have two indoor cats and a few "visiting" cats will taunt them through the screen door. A visiting cat is a bully who will rush to the screen, growling. I'm just waiting for someone to break in.
So, I set it up on the patio so it covers the entire space. I haven't seen that cat, nor any cat, since. not one. I live in a college town with lots of casual neighbors, so it's possible the cat doesn't live around anymore. However, I haven't seen any cats yet, so I'm inclined to give the credit to the yard sentry.
I set it to 1st gear and have motion detection. Neighbor's kids (ages 6 to around 20s) can hear it but don't bother them. This is pretty cool because it's a directional sound so my cat, who is indoors but only a few feet away from it, can't hear it at all. I would definitely recommend anyone with cat issues to give it a try. Worth a try!
