    Nice PC, very clean, includes a good new keyboard, mouse and a USB WiFi adapter.

    It actually came with Windows 10 Pro, not Windows Home, as advertised.

    Although 鶹 said It had an optical drive, It came without it. After some interactions with MaxE Computers LLC support, they send me the drive, I installed it by myself, and eveything worked as expected.

    It came well packed, very clean; It looked like new one!.

    I use to play old games and as a media center, and It works fine.

    Of course you never know what you are getting when you buy a refurbished computer. My last one was a bad buy, but this one, so far, has exceeded my expectations. One thing I didn't realize was is that this PC does not have bluetooth capabilities, so don't get this if you need that function. The PC set up fast and runs pretty fast as well. No problem hooking my printer up with a LAN cable either (since I couldn't connect with bluetooth). Packaging was outstanding and could come in handy if I were to need to ship something out in the future. It runs on Windows 10 Pro, which is closer to Windows 11, but you cannot upgrade this PC to Windows 11. It does not meet the minimum requirements. DVD drive seems to wotk fine. Having some prior PC knowledge will help, because this did not come with an hook up instructions or anything to explain all the ports on both sides. You will have to connect the wifi antenna up in the back. You will see 4 USB ports, the one under the blue, round PIN connect port is the one to plug this into.

    This review is for the Dell Optiplex 7040 Small Form Desktop, Intel Quad Core i7 6700 3.4Ghz, 32GB DDR4, 512GB SDD.

    First off, the ad says Windows 10 Home. It actually came with Windows 10 Pro. No bloatware. Just bare bones, clean and ready for your apps.

    The ad also says No keyboard or mouse. It actually came with a new keyboard and mouse in new separate boxes.

    There has been some concern on 鶹 about some of the Dell Optiplex PC's not having an optical drive. This one does have an optical drive.

    Funny, the same unit on 鶹 is selling for $20 less with 16GB ram, Windows 10 Pro, keyboard and mouse. I opted for this one instead. I figured it was worth forfeiting the Windows Pro, the keyboard and mouse and get the 32GB ram. Instead I got it all anyway! It even came with a display port to HDMI adapter and a Wi-Fi USB dongle. WOW!

    I must mention it was very well packed. Very well indeed.

    It looks new. Not a mark on it. Exceptionally clean.

    First thing I did was boot from a Macrium USB thumb drive and made an image of the system. After that I retrieved the installed key, the OEM key and the product ID and put a sticker on the unit. Then I moved on to partitioning the drive and installing software. All went well.
    This machine is very well behaved.
    Boot up time is about 24 seconds and shutdown almost instant. Both good signs of a healthy machine.

    I checked the specs using Window properties and it is exactly as advertised.

    It runs exceptionally quiet. It is after all SSD and you don't hear the fan at all.
    I would have liked a little bit larger HDD but it is only being used as a server, and for that it is just fine.

    These Dell Optiplexes are very powerful machines, even by today's standards.
    I bought this one to replace my old Dell Optiplex which has an Intel i7 860 and 16GB DDR3 ram, and I am very pleased at how much more horsepower I got. I am running a surveillance system with 22 cameras, and my old Optiplex was starting to choke. Everything now runs so much smoother. I can now add even more cameras.

    This is a good buy. There is a security sticker on the case that voids the warranty if the seal is broken. I will wait until the warranty is over if I decide to put in a larger HDD. But for now this is more than great.
