    The DVD set arrived on time. The box itself was in perfect condition, as were every single disk included. The series itself was wonderful to watch. I had have the chance to see a few episodes sporadically in the later seasons way back then, but I never followed the entire series. I would definitely recommend it to fans of comedies.

    As someone who grew up in the 90s, I can also attest to the small amount of nostalgia the animated atmosphere manages to convey: the kind of faux advertisement on the walls, the small details about what kind of equipment and decoration you would find in a typical house in those days... It's a great throw backs to that time period. With the benefit of hindsight, I don't think we could find a better decade in which to put a character like Daria: she's delightfully sarcastic, just sufficiently cynical to poke lighthearted fun at the hypocrisy of people around her and utterly unapologetic about being her own person.

    By my estimation, this series is also quite sophisticated in the ways it depicts human interactions. There wasn't a moment that felt "plastic," that felt like the authors forced a message into the plot by having characters go out of their ways to espouse or oppose the message. Daria is her own person and she is very principled, but she isn't always right. Some of her reactions are out of place or mistaken and her tendency to try to throw it back in the face of other people through some high-minded humorous quip sometimes blow back in her face. Of course, the cheerleader and the jock are not depicted as the brightest bulbs in the set, but neither of them are cast are irredeemably bad people. All of those little things contribute to selling the story of life in a 90s high school seen through the eyes of someone like Daria.

    Anyhow, it's a wonderful series of the sort you will want watching more than once and it comes with both of the movies (is it fall yet and is it college yet, if I recall the titles correctly).

    The character Daria was actually first created on Beavis and Butthead as a side character but became so extremely popular that she got her own television show. Daria, at the time (and still is), is an unusual television show with aired on MTV with the fact that it made fun of everything MTV stood for. The show was so different in its time that it created an extremely loyal and dedicated fanbase. The show ran from 1997 to 2002 and stayed silent, until 2010 when this DVD series was released.

    The show is about an extremely sarcastic teenaged girl named Daria trying to survive through high school with as little social interaction as possible. Along with her clever wit and her friend Jane, she journeys through the trials and tribulations that high school has to offer.

    This set comes with all 65 episodes as well as the unused pilot and the 2 movies. There are also many extras such as the 'Daria Day' openings as well as interviews with the cast members.

    A major thing this set is missing is all the original music. Unfortunately, due to many licensing issues, almost all of the original songs had to be taken out of the show but in my opinion it is not a total loss. The humor and personality of the show still shine without the music and the producers have attempted to replace them with dummy versions which aren't so bad. Overall, Daria: The Complete Series is a definite purchase for those who were fans of the series and recommended for those new to the series.

    Everything about this series is fantastic. Daria is a character spun-off from the MTV series Beavis and Butthead. She is wholly and uniquely her own character and story though, and aside from getting her start in that series, her own series has no ties to it. They've recently announced that they will be starting a new Daria series as well.

    This product does come with the original television movies, which is a major pro...The major con is that much of the 90s music has had to be replaced due to licencing issues. For those that are watching it for the first time, they may not notice...For returning fans, this might be a bit of a draw back...

    I will admit that part of my adoration for this series is nostalgia. I used to watch this, late night Friday, when I was growing up. Also much of the high school life is reminiscent of my own time there. Often watching this series makes me both happy and sad, and miss my younger years and a simpler time in life.

    The DVD box set has excellent quality copies of the episodes and both movies from the series produced. The only downside, though totally understandable, is the removal of most the original songs. A slip is included in the box indicating the reasons why the music was swapped out in case those who purchase the series didn't know originally why this has happened. The royalties involved would have tripled the price alone on this amazing series. For the most part you won't really notice as the substituted music does its job just as excellently as the original. Features are minimal on the discs and the binding material to switch between one 'page' of DVDs stored on it is a bit flimsy - easy to pop it out (but also back in) of its spine inside the box. Overall, kick*** purchase and well worth it if you want one of the last creative ideas MTV had before they switched to 'reality tv' shows.

    This was certainly a worthwhile purchase. It says complete box set and it certainly is, containing all five seasons, both movies and a massive load of extras. It did not disappoint whatsoever in terms of content.
    The show takes characters on the outside of society (High School in particular), and makes them both funny and human, managing to relate to a substantial amount of people I know. The show has phenomenally good use of sarcasm and dead pan humor. It suits me down to the ground.

    If I had a complaint to make it would be in the packaging design. The discs are stuck in position with tight positions and not an easy to use button in the center. This unfortunately is very difficult to use at first, and makes you feel as if you're going to break the disc. Thankfully that didn't happen in my case. This packaging design is certainly something I hope will phase out soon.
    Also; there is no list of episodes on the discs, they each have a brief caption of what episodes they have, but a full list complete with titles would be a great help to anyone such as myself who hasn't been able to memorize much of the series.

    I realize my negative paragraph on the packaging is bigger than the positive paragraph on the content. This is because my feelings about the show can be easily summarized, whereas the foul packaging sent me on a rant. Regardless of the packaging I would highly recommend this box set to any fan of Daria, South Park, or any fan of animated comedy.

    10 out of 10 for the set, 2 out of 10 for the box.
