Movie was good. Went to go see it in theatres when I was younger. Always been a big fan of science and natural disaster films (Twister, Contact, The Day After Tomorrow, etc.) However, have to give a low rating (2/5) because the case came with severe cracks at the top.

    This review is for the DVD with "12" in red bottom left and "12" in blue bottom right. Over 5,000 reviews so this won't mean beans....but.- An excellent transfer - clear picture, colour, good sound, and optional English subs. Extras not seen but listed here on site. This remains one of my favourite disaster movies. No nonsense. Good cliched characters, including a loveable dog and stubbrn old lady, all eventually in serious peril from very realistic CGI/SFX. Pierce B and Linda H make an excellent pairing, and her off spring are played well. The rest of the cast is well shosen, but everyone takes a back seat to the spectacular events following the "eruption". Perhaps 10 mins too long???? Opinions differ. I loved this film and last night must have been the 5th or 6th time since I first saw in the cinema all those wonderful cinema going days of yesteryear. Recomended
