At first you think you know where it is going and what will happen, but it takes a different turn. The acting is good. Gwendolyn is quite a spoiled self centered young woman and thinks her beauty can get her everywhere. It gets her places but not what I am sure she had in mind. Highly recommendable. Good story, good acting and very entertaining.

Les personnages ont une réelle épaisseur, tantôt attachants, tantôt détestables, ils ne laissent pas de marbre. Ce film sensibilise au thème du sionisme naissant en époque Victorienne, à la condition des juifs confrontés déjà à la critique facile et à une certaine forme d'antisémitisme. Encore une réussite de la BBC, à dévorer en une seule fois (3 épisodes).
