    In the colourful and tumultuous history of Fleetwood Mac; members have come and gone at quite regular intervals - and this is just the latterday (circa January 1975) Buckingham and Nicks era) I'm talking about.
    1997 marked the 20th anniversary of their classic/seminal Rumours album first being released; and what better way to celebrate than the classic line-up to reunite for a special one off concert.
    Both Buckingham and Nicks had quit their Mac roles some time ago,and they reconvened along with eponymous everpresents - Mick Fleetwood and John Mcvie - and with long-term (multi talented) member Christine Mcvie.
    Let the show commence: and what a show it was.opening with The chain,then Dreams - both classic tracks from the Rumours album,followed by Everywhere and Rhiannon - Tango in the night and FM/white album - respectively.

    Next offering: I'm so afraid (also off 'white album') is an incredible live performance of this lyrically angst-ridden classic.Lindsey B's guitar solo on the coda is truly awesome - such a vastly underrated guitarist is he!
    Christine Mac's turn to shine next on her own comp' - the frenetic,upbeat marvel of a tune - Temporary one.LB's turn now - after spoken intro - for "a new song" (in 1997) Bleed to love her.
    Acoustic take on Big love - better than studio version is track 8.
    T9: Stevie Nicks' haunting and beautiful - Landslide.
    T10: Say you love me (one of my all time fave Mac songs) is a revalation,as it's introduced as the very first song John Mcvie has ever sang on - although you'd have to bend your ears to hear him properly👂🤫
    Rumours 'reject' Silver springs,You make loving fun and Go your own way are other live version gems to highlight.
    T14: Sweet girl - is another 'new song' - courtesy of the pen and vocals of S Nicks.
    The band give it their all on T15: Go your own way - Lindsey Buckingham's guitar again - wow!
    Fair to say: this was a rather special concert in the long history of Fleetwood Mac; and this was certainly highlighted on the last two songs on The Dance album; Tusk - featuring The U.S.C. Trojan marching band (who made a significant contribution to original studio version) and closing track: Don't stop.you can really hear their brassy,gutsy contributions,and along with Mick's drumming and John Mac's bass g - is a truly magnificent end to - let's face it magnificent performance!
    Ending with thank you's from all main band personnel - a perfect end to a perfect performance on that night in 1997 (exact date escapes me).

    The cd release: is a one disc jewel case format and comes with fold out glossy sleeve,with individual colour shots of all five FM stars,and on stage shots of all performers - including backing musicians and the sprawling Trojan band.
    Also included is; full musician,crew and management credits - 'special thanks' credits as well.
    It only took me one listen for me to decide to award The Dance - classic album status,but couldn't resist listening to it a second time - a wonderful live album from rock legends- Fleetwood Mac.
    NB: From 30th November 2022: on hearing the very sad news of the passing of Christine Mcvie; hearing her beautiful,sultry vocals on record,is now with added poignancy - and her contributions on this live album are certainly no exception!
    Christine...you were and always will be - a star in my eyes - long live your wonderful legacy - and Fleetwood Mac's? 🎸🥁🎤
