This is my second of these foldable style mats, and I absolutely love them. This one is a little smaller than I expected, but holds mugs and cups well. The stone literally makes water disappear- which is still so insane to me even after months of use. These foldable mats are extremely delicate, so I don’t opt to store them, I keep them out on my counter. The gaps in between the stone strips are too big, though. They leave lots of room for moisture to get in between the quick drying panels, it takes way longer to dry in there, and obviously this is not what you want for something that is getting wet constantly.

The pattern is beautiful and subtle on this mat. The black marbling adds a touch of modern elegance to an otherwise bland looking mat.

Quand j'ai reçu le produit je l'ai trouvé bien drôle. La fiche amazon indique (ainsi que les photos) que c'est un tapis de séchage pour la vaisselle. Cependant, quand on reçoit la boîte, c'est inscrit dessus "bathroom" est les indication montrent que c'est un genre de tapis de sortie de douche. Par contre, ça taille est vraiment conçu pour un comptoir car c'est beaucoup trop petit pour un tapis de douche.

Pour ce qui est du séchage, c'est impressionnant. En moins d'une minute, le liquide qui est mis dessus est absorbé et le produit est "sec" et sans marques d'humidité.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with the DSCD Stone Drying Mat for Kitchen.

To begin with, stone and drying aren’t two words I think of going together. I did some reading and learned that because the ‘stone’ is diatomite, it would be absorbent. But would it really work?

As I share kitchen duties with my husband, on the days I’m doing dishes, this gets left out. My husband still prefers the old drainer and dish rack because it holds more and stops things from falling off the end where they land behind a rolling piece of counter. So we’ve been alternating drying mats.

Today, I decided to test the claim that it dries faster. I put two of the same item on each mat. After 30 minutes both were wet, after 60 the stone mat had almost dried its contents and after 90 minutes both were ready to be put away. So, in my non-scientific test, I saw it does dry dishes faster than the drainer but not instantaneously.

Where it becomes a clear winner is that it indisputably looks far better than the plastic drainer. So it will stay out because it is a real joy to walk into the kitchen and see that corner looking so uncluttered.

This drying mat is a nice upgrade from the usual fabric ones. It’s made of diatomaceous material, so it actually dries really fast and doesn’t stay damp. Great for dishes, but I also use it near the sink to catch splashes, works well there too.
It’s lightweight, foldable, and doesn’t slide around thanks to the non slip bottom. The grey color is neutral and blends into the kitchen easily.

Only thing to note: it’s not super soft, so probably not ideal if you’re expecting something cushy but for quick drying and clean counters, it does the job.

On one hand, it has a very aesthetically pleasing color and design, dries up magically right in front of your eyes (friends' kids were entertained for some time watching it dry repeatedly), comfortably holds over eight mugs, has panels with smooth, rounded edges, and comes with thorough guidance on proper use and care.

On the flip side, the spaces between the panels collect water that takes longer to dry, which also causes the underneath panels to become wet and remain damp for an extended period, as the panels are held together by a tape-like plastic film.

It is absolutely essential to read and follow the guide that comes with the mat, as it needs to be handled with care, as evidenced by a tiny chip and a small crack in the plastic film between the two panels. It would be nice if it came with extra self-adhesive tape just in case, but it is inexpensive and can easily be purchased if needed.
