I am 80 years old and needed a step stool with a handle to help with better balance when accessing higher shelves around the house. When it arrived, I found it easy to unpack and remove the parts. The materials were excellent quality, and the legs and base had clear markers to ensure everything fit together properly. The stool came with 5 screws for the base, and 4 for the handrail. The installation instructions were very clear and included pictures.
Initially, I only looked at the pictures, which turned out to be a mistake. I tried screwing the nuts onto the screws by hand, but they wouldn’t go in beyond a few millimeters. My husband even suggested we return the product. However, after reading the component list, I learned that the nuts had nylon inserts, which create resistance. This means you need to use tools—a screwdriver and a wrench—to hold the nut securely while tightening.
That said, the included wrench was not very useful. One side was too small, the other too wide, and it was difficult to hold the nuts properly. I recommend having an adjustable wrench with a good handle and a ratchet screwdriver for the assembly. It’s also helpful to have another person hold the nuts in place while tightening. With the right tools, the assembly only took about 10 minutes.
Once everything was assembled, we were very satisfied with the stool. It’s sturdy, well-designed, and works perfectly for its purpose.
