    This is a great amp I put it in a secrets tin and made a custom solution for my boys PC. Wired it to 5 v usb end. 3.5 mm audio end to PC. 100 uses I'd imagine. Be a great replacement for a set of good PC speakers.

    My Bluetooth speaker kicked the bucket not too long ago and was able to salvage the speakers and housing, along with the battery. This amplifier board works just as well as the original one that the speaker had inside, and actually sounds pretty darn good. It can deliver it's rated 5 watts of power with some headroom to spare which is nice.

    It amplifies input audio as it should. Three small problems:
    (1) The base of the volume / on-off device is not seated flush with the circuit board, so it is angled slightly downward from the circuit board. Furthermore, you don't know if this angle is variable from unit to unit (I bought only one).
    (2) The surface of the volume / on-off knob is finished with groves going in circles around the axis. This tends to make your fingers slide over the knob when turning it. The grooves should instead run parallel to the axis, which would help your fingers grip the knob when turning it. No grooves would be better than circular grooves.
    (3) The knob does not pull off using much force. And there is no space between the knob and the circuit board.
    (4) I'm not complaining about this because the photo is clear enough but be advised that for the input audio signal there is a socket for a jack, not screws for three wires -- screws as used for the power and speakers.
    Conclusion: I will keep this for a prototype but look elsewhere for an amplifier to use in the final product (mainly because of #1 above).

    If you are working with those 4W 3Ohm DIY speakers, this is exactly what you need for your project. The board does a great job at amplifying sounds; especially, if you are particularly working with treble.

    Although the board did a fantastic job amplifying treble, I wasn't particularly impressed with the bass amplification. I compared it to another amplifier I own (3.7V board), and it underperformed significantly.

    The board was easy to use, and did not require any soldering. I was able to clamp in the wires and use it right away.

    Overall, I think it is a great board if you plan on using it for anything other than music. When it came to amplifying voices, it was really fantastic. I recommend giving it a try.
