I got this netting to discourage raccoons from using an area of my backyard as their own private toilets. I spread the netting over the problem area. Once laid down, I used the ties to gather together sections of the nettings so that the netting formed mounds of different sizes. This makes it difficult for the raccoons to walk over the netting. When finished with the layout, I fastened the netting to the ground with spikes. So far, I don't see any additional droppings. I will update later if I see any changes.
This netting also makes a good ground level fence. I usually plant green beans from seeds during the spring. The early sprouts are usually eaten, most likely by rabbits I've seen in my area. With this net I wrapped the netting around my garden and so far it looks to be good. I will update later if I see any changes.
The netting is soft and very pliable. It's not springy (unlike chicken wire). It's easy to unwind and very simple to work with. I tried ripping the netting with my hands but found it difficult. I did manage to rip the netting by hand, but doing so cut into my fingers. It's so much easier to cut with scissors. I was able to work with the netting without wearing gloves, whereas if I'm working with chicken wire, wearing gloves is a must. This alone makes this netting an easy choice over using chicken wire.
