Product description

With a simple turn of the ergonomic, non slip handle this durable stainless steel food mill purees a wide variety of fruit and vegetables while straining out skins , seeds and pulp. Instead of manually scraping the underside of the mill, the innovative scraper automatically scrapes as you turn. This increases efficiently by allowing a smoother, more continuous flow of food . The deluxe food mill also sits high in you pot or bowl keeping the mill out of the food. Comes with 3 different size straining disks; 2mm, 3mm; 4mm. Comes part for easy cleaning.

    Promoted on amazon as the best of the best food mill, read reviews and compared to others listed , checked utubes on use for pureeing tomatoes, however found this to be totally ineffective on pureeing my tomatoes. Cored, blanched, peeled and chopped tomatoes added to mill and all it does is push them around and around you have to manually push them in under the plate to get it to puree them, took forever and wore my arm out cranking it to do half a dozen tomatoes at this point had to reverse crank and clear the waste manually.
    This wasn't working, so went and purchased a VKP Brands Food Strainer & Sauce Maker food mill ( cost less also, there is also an option to purchase an electric motor to replace the hand crank), it has a feed tube with a plunger that feeds an auger (much like a meat grinder) the puree comes out the screen and down a chute into your catch bowl and the seeds , skin and core are augered though and come out the end and drop into your waste catch bowl.
    It would have taken all day to do my 25lbs of tomatoes if I had the stamina to crank and mess with the feeding and clearing of the waste, with the Victornix I was done in 30 minutes.
    It did not work for me or as seen in utube videos, others think its the cats meow, maybe they know a trick that I don't.

    I recently cut back my hours as a waiter where I get a free, amazing dinner 5 nights a week. Now as a student with no money who loves food, I had to get back to meal prep and killer weeknight dinners. When ATK dropped an article about the best mashed potatoes recently, I bit the bullet and picked this up on their recommendation. A good sale helped push me over the edge!

    I knew they joys of mashed potatoes through a food mill from work, as my boss makes the worlds best. Welp, now I do too! A little rosemary, roasted garlic and cr¨¨me fraiche? Don¡¯t mind if I do! It¡¯s been fun playing around. And this summer when I want to process garden tomatoes for sauce! Can¡¯t wait to get all the seeds out and jar up some summer for upcoming cold seasons!

    Onto the device itself: it¡¯s sleek looking, doesn¡¯t take up too much space (compared to commercial ones at least), and the smooth stainless cleans up quickly with handwashing. With a couple rounds of practice, i managed to make the best mashers I¡¯ve ever made quickly and easily using this food mill.

    The plastic scraper on the bottom is pretty meh in design and annoying to take on and off. I may just toss it in a drawer and forget about it. It seems like it will break within a few years as it gets more brittle. At least they sell the replacement part now. But overall, I think this thing works great!

    I could see how some cooks might find it cumbersome to use on the stovetop, and it does take some coordination to not have it rock all over the place when turning. That said, being of average height and strength, I have no problems with it.
