I already had a great kettle I bought several years ago that I loved and I wasn't sure another would win my heart but this has. I didn't really see the appeal of having a glass kettle. I could always tell when my old one was boiling because I got to know the sounds. This one is like that too; you get to know the sounds more so than you sit there and watch it. It's a nice looking kettle with a stainless steel base. The button glows blue when it's engaged and auto shuts off which is probably going to save me lots of money since my old kettle would keep water hot all day if I forgot to turn it off. My main concern was that I always used my old kettle with a smart plug so I could tell Alexa as I was getting out of bed to start the kettle and I wasn't sure this one could work that way since it has an auto off switch and the on button needs to be re-engaged to start again but I found a simple way for it to work just as good as before. I often would turn my old kettle off manually by hitting the button on it's smart plug when I was pouring my tea. So now when I do that, I just manually switch the kettle to "on" so it's ready for the next time; easy peasy. The fact that it's cordless is really what won my heart in the end. No more unplugging it to fill it up or to take it to the dinning table. The only draw backs that I can figure is that it's obviously much more breakable than my fully stainless steel kettle and that it seems like it would be a tight fit to clean; I'll need to use a brush (I never cleaned the inside of my old kettle though, so no big deal). It's also three times the price; so the value is a little questionable but overall; I'm thrilled with it and my old kettle has found a new home in my bottom cupboard (just in case).

    At first I bought a similar looking Salton kettle, and comparing the two, the quality difference with this Cuisinart kettle is night and day. The Cuisinart is so much better. It even feels better in the hand.
