Remember the feeling of getting a fresh pack and being the first kid in your class to use your favourite colour while it still had a fine point? Well, you can absolutely relive those memories with a brand new box of Crayola crayons! I recently ordered two, 24-packs of these exceptional waxy wonders. One pack was for my 5 year old and the other for me. Well, last Friday the package arrived at my door and I could barely contain myself. I knew my butler would have my son home from daycare within the hour, but there was no way I was going to wait to get into my pack. I ripped the package open, pulled out the first rainbow box, and marveled at the sheer beauty. I began to feel myself well up as the crayons were just as I had remembered from my youth. The intoxicating smell, the classic bubble writing, the beauty and colour of the palette that seemed to blend together so seamlessly. I was in awe! I slid the top of the box open and gently removed the orange crayon. It was if the heavens opened up and light shot down on me out of the sky, and a chorus of angels began to sing. I looked longingly at the simple flawlessness of the orange crayon in an attempt to make that feeling last forever. Time stood still for one perfect moment. Time. Stood. Still. My brain reverted back that moment of when I was a young lad in elementary school with that orange crayon in my hand. A single tear rolled down my face as I opened my mouth and threw the whole crayon inside, with the paper label still wrapped around the cylindrical exterior. As I began chewing, the memories of texture and flavour all began flooding back to me. It was like that feeling of the last day of school before summer vacation. The smell of grass in the air, the heat of the outdoor sun shining through the class windows, and the apprehension of waiting for the clock to count down those final minutes before the bell. A feeling I had lost some years ago as a result of many sleepless nights from law-school, climbing the corporate ladder, and four failed marriages which we shall never speak of. My apologies. What's important here is that these are amazing crayons. You and your kids will love them. Just don't let your nosey neighbors catch you eating any, or you'll have some explaining to do at the next HOA meeting.
