I bought this for my nephews 3rd birthday and he was interested in it, but before he got much time with it it was swiped by his five year old brother and then was swiped by mom, dad and 33 year old uncle. I also had a total blast with it ‘installing and testing the batteries’ 😜. Everyone really loved it and from the time I turned it in after dinner to a few hours later when I left, I don’t think it was off for ten minutes. All the adults reminded me that Xmas is coming if I was wondering for gift ideas...ya know..they would be happy with one of these. It feels just like finger painting and is really relaxing to doodle on. The lights are so cool and really impressive. Make sure you have batteries and a miniature screwdriver set on hand if you want to use lights or sound but because the paint has colour too, you can use it without turning it on. Very good value for the money and I may have to buy five more as Xmas presents, but at this price, that is okay with me.

Bought as a Christmas present for the nephews, they found it to be entertaining enough and it is a definite plus that it is a no-mess way to experience “fingerpainting” on a slate of backlit goo. The backlighting was a little disappointing, not as bright as in the pictures and some colours you could hardly notice at all while the room lights were on. Option to have sound on or off, which the sound is basically a melody song that plays continuously on loop (fairly quiet as far as noise goes but could get annoying after a period of time) - maybe a 3-4/10 on a scale of annoying noises that toys can make. Would buy again, but keeping in mind that the novelty will probably wear off over time and perhaps the best utility for this toy is on long car rides as a mess free “crafty” toy, provided you don’t end up throwing it out the window first after heading the song replayed 100x over.
