I can't believe I didn't read A Court of Thorns and Rosesbefore now, ten years after it first released! Better late than never the saying says. I'm in agreement with its high popularity as I was instantly captivated by Feyre's journey!

The intrigue started slow, but it was the perfect pace to get acquainted to this fantastical world. I liked discovering the different varieties of fearies and creatures living in Prythian, but also knowing more about this magical land. The High Fae and their powers with the multiple Courts had me intrigued. It was truly a very immersive experience reading this novel.

I loved the heroine, Feyre. This human, so brave and determined in a world full of enemies. The evolution of her relationship with Tamlin and Lucien, her Spring Court protectors, was amazing to witness. They shared an amalgam of feelings together going from hate to humor to respect to friendship. All these protagonists were certainly multi-faceted and alluring. The most intriguing one of all to me: Rhysand from the Night Court. I appreciated his morally gray persona, not knowing his true motives, but still seeing a kind of protectiveness toward Feyre despite his actions.

The true intrigue took off at the midway mark and the last quarter of this story was simply fabulous and addicting. I was breathless from all the action, deception and revelations. And the discovery of the real villain was so interesting.

In retrospective, ACOTAR was seriously such a brilliant book in my opinion! I'm now so excited to dive into the second novel, A Court of Mist and Fury! There's still so much unresolved things that I need answers to.

**Title:** A Court of Thorns and Roses
    **Author:** Sarah J. Maas
    **Rating:** ⭐⭐⭐⭐

    **Review:**
"A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas is a captivating fantasy novel that weaves a complex and magical world filled with enchanting characters and intricate plotlines. The story, set in a richly imagined faerie realm, follows Feyre Archeron, a young huntress, as she navigates a world divided between humans and faeries.

The narrative unfolds at a deliberate pace, with the initial chapters setting the stage for the broader conflicts and introducing readers to the diverse cast of characters. The book's strength lies in its meticulous character development, as each figure comes to life with their own unique traits, motivations, and secrets. The intricate relationships and alliances contribute to the depth of the story, making it essential to invest time in understanding the characters' backgrounds and intricacies.

While the pacing may be considered slow by some readers, it is a deliberate choice that serves the purpose of establishing a solid foundation for the overarching narrative. The gradual build-up pays off as the story progresses, leading to intense and gripping moments that wouldn't have the same impact without the careful groundwork laid in the earlier chapters.

Maas's writing style is vivid and immersive, allowing readers to vividly picture the lush landscapes and magical elements of the faerie world. The author skillfully combines elements of romance, adventure, and political intrigue, creating a narrative that appeals to a wide range of readers.

The novel's four-star rating is a reflection of its overall excellence, with the deduction attributed to the initial slow pacing. However, this should not deter readers, as the investment in understanding the characters is crucial to fully appreciate the unfolding events and the depth of the relationships that drive the story forward.

In conclusion, "A Court of Thorns and Roses" is a compelling fantasy novel that rewards patience with a richly layered narrative, complex characters, and a world that seamlessly blends magic and reality. For those willing to invest the time in getting to know the characters, the payoff is a deeply satisfying and immersive reading experience.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A spicy spin of Beauty and the Beast that keeps you on your toes.

As a non-fantasy reader before #thefourthwing I definitely would never have thought twice about picking up this read. BUT, boy was I happy I did.

I ate this book up page by page and loved the determination of Feyre. With every single challenge, riddle and will she was able to conquer at the end. The twists and turns that lingered I was left guessing the next move. Little did I know that love would be a part of this grand reveal.

I loved the imagery provided and detail oriented challenges, riddles and the (lack of) information that was revealed to Feyre that continued to fuel the fire within her.

This had me putting together my own theories and guesses as to what the world was becoming. It was a fun journey to the truth and revelation of the story as a whole.

If you’re sceptical about whether or not you may be engaged in this story.. I would say it’s a 10/10 recommendation.

The author is exceptionally well-versed. The writing was well done almost poetic. Really enjoyed however, if you do not like extended romance/sex scenes which I do not, that is the only reason that I would give it four stars instead of five. Once a book goes down this road, it somewhat reminds me of a Harlequin Romance and I find myself skipping over several pages.
The rest of the story, however was intriguing and attention binding. It was not, however, enough to continue on with the series.

In the second half of the book there’s these patches of glue that bled onto the pages which ripped my pages (see the second photo) :(

Other than that it’s good quality, just an average book.
