First off I want to say that corro-protec's customer service is amazing. I had an issue with the two piece Bradford White Elbow and they sent me a replacement in less than 2 days!
I'm really hoping this electronic anode rod will prolong my water heaters life.
My issue was that my last water heater died early luckily still under warranty. I have a water softener which is likely the cause. I did change my magnesium anode rod every 4 years but my tank still died early, I might have had to change the anode every two years but this would get expensive. A Bradford White anode is about $180 so in about 2-4 years this corro-protec powered anode will have paid for itself plus low to no maintenance, just be sure to check for the green light and inspect the rod from time to time. The installation I wish would have gone easier, it wasn't a 30 minute job like I hoped but not that difficult that I wanted to pay a plumber. I should note that I had to had to use pipe sealant otherwise I had a small leak on the elbow and hot water outlet.
