Most people run away from ferocious beasts, not headlong into their beds…

Threatened with an arranged marriage to a cruel lord who despises him, Aster claims the protection of the one man no one will dare to challenge: Sir Corin, disgraced dragon knight…and the man Aster’s sister betrayed so publicly that he fled the court for a gloomy, isolated mountain hideaway.

But Aster didn’t plan to be stranded there with one bed between them—or to give in to years of longing and beg for the monster’s forbidden touch.

Corin’s no one’s hero, not anymore—especially Aster’s. But when a royal decree makes Aster the prize for any predatory knight who can defeat him in single combat,
Corin can’t seem to let him go, even though he knows the price for keeping Aster forever is more than he’s willing to pay…

This spicy, steamy, M/M paranormal fantasy romance features a pair of star-crossed opposites, some silliness involving a lack of pants at unexpected moments, plenty of dirty talk, and knotting (but no mpreg). HEA guaranteed.

Great romance…reminds me a bit of beauty and the beast—but funnier. Will read Fiore’s story. What about the Jules’ trumpet?

I really liked this story though there are some loose ends I wish had gotten tied up.

Like did the king really think Marellus' terms were ok?

Also I need a whole book of angry married couple Sig and Jules.

I enjoyed this book about Corin, a too honorable dragon and the minor lordling called Aster who has pinned for him from afar for years. Eliot Grayson has added lots of marvelous complications to their relationship. I was in hysterics at certain points especially when all of the various suitors started showing up. I think my favorite thing is how gentle and protective Corin is with certain things even though he can still go all out dragon when he needs to. Ms. Grayson made me all out honestly cry with this story at times but she nicely avoids having the whole thing sickly sweet by balancing the sweet bits with other things.

This one was almost there for me. I loved the backstory of Aster being in love with his sister’s fiancé for years but having to hide it. And Corin being so infatuated with Belinda he doesn’t really notice him at all.
Totally realistic thinking on Corin’s part how he can’t stop seeing Belinda in Aster and how he could use and abuse him to get his revenge, after Belinda cheated on him. My only fault with this story is how it jumped from that type of thinking to Corin realizing how amazing Aster is as himself. It was like one day and one time sleeping together…felt a bit rushed on how Corin’s out look changed.
Plus, while I didn’t mind it per se the first time felt a little dubcon, just with how Corin makes Aster take it. Also the part with Aster being unconscious during some of it was a little cringy.

2.5/5 I seem to be in the minority here, but I had a lot of trouble with this book. Aster tells us that Corin is completely trustworthy and an amazing, honourable man. What I saw as a reader was someone who was incredibly rude, thoughtless, dismissive, and unsympathetic most of the time, as well as still toxically angry with his ex-fiancée, Aster’s sister. Even if Corin privately recognised he’d just done/said something awful, he almost never corrects himself verbally, leaving Aster with the first impression. Aster, meanwhile, is way younger, has been in love with Corin for years, doesn’t have a lot of self-esteem (as the “not pretty/charming” one of the family), and basically will do anything/accept anything to get to spend time with Corin. (Even when he thinks he might be a substitute for his sister.) This does not sound in any way healthy.

The first 55% of the book is the two of them alone in Corin’s remote castle together. It’s apparently only a night and one day. It felt longer. There’s a whole lot of Corin being rude and way more sex than I’m comfortable with given how much of that time Aster is exhausted, drunk, or unconscious. I think I’m supposed to dismiss some of Corin’s behaviour as culturally different because he’s a dragon, but I just couldn’t suspend disbelief. Consent is supposed to be enthusiastic and ongoing and can be revoked at any time. So when Aster has doubts during the act and Corin just says “yes, you can take it”, that disturbed me a lot, especially when it’s something Corin is enjoying and Aster isn’t. If you haven’t discussed it and someone says “no”, then no means no. (But of course Corin knows better and they both ultimately end up enjoying themselves, so it’s supposed to be okay.)

The last 45% of the book, it’s been declared open season on Aster, where any person in good standing with the king who beats Aster (not a good swordsmen) in a fight gets to marry him and win a bunch of money. (I really hope the king knew Aster was with Corin when he executed this plan. It’s humiliating and creepy but ever so slightly better if he thinks Aster is somewhat protected.) Aster finally gets guilted into going off with someone to protect his family, and then it takes someone else’s machinations to finally get Corin to go after him.

I mean … I’m glad that Aster doesn’t get stuck with someone he doesn’t want? Corin has apparently learned that Aster is more important to him than his pride, so maybe he’s grown as a dragon. I liked the theory of Corin having extra dragon characteristics and Aster being unafraid of him and attracted where Belinda had been horrified. I just didn’t find enough moments where I really felt like they were clicking or it wasn’t clouded with consent issues on my end.

I have some vague hope that Corin and Aster will actually get to know one another properly in the future and they will build a foundation for the love that they have declared for one another. I really enjoyed the first book, but this one just didn’t work for me.

I received an ARC from GRR. This is my honest review.

Even after reading the synopsis, i had no idea what to expect when it came to this book. It was a short, fluffy book. Not cutesy and not a deep love story, just sex and a romance with a very small amount of angst. Obviously, it's a shifter novel with a dragon who is more of a dragon than newer dragons...that was not explained fully, just repeated a number of times, but I have no idea what it meant.

The ending fell flat for me. The father, the Bethoved, and Belinda were all there, but nothing happened.

I used to really enjoy Grayson's books, but I feel like they've mostly turned into thinly veiled pornography with confusing power dynamics. When you take the sex out of this book, there's almost nothing left. Unlike Devon and the Dragon, which was charming and funny and emotional, this book is thin on plot and characterization and humour. I expect at some point there may be a book about Sig and Jules — I hope it's a bit more interesting.

Deven and the Dragon has been one of my absolute favourite Eliot Grayson books so I was ECSTATIC when I saw there was going to be a second book in the series. Corin and the Courtier can be read as a standalone, but both books are fantastic so definitely read them both. Just in whatever order you prefer.

Corin is a dragon who's been through a broken engagement and is a bit depressed, brooding in his tower when Aster, his ex-fiancée's brother shows up and asks for shelter. With a storm coming, good-guy and gallant hero Corin can't turn him away. As the two get to know each other, Corin begins to see Aster as more than just his ex's brother. When outside circumstances force Aster and Corin to be honest about how they feel for each other, will they fight to be together? Or will Corin decide he prefers his lonely solitude?

Eliot Greyson is a one-click author for me but she has really outdone herself with Corin and the Courtier.

Paranormal, fantasy, here be dragons and their intriguingly oversized anatomy (iykyk), forced proximity, dirty talk, and all the feels

This is the second time I’ve read this book and I’ve enjoyed it as much this time as the last. The storyline and the characterisation are both top notch as is the humour. Who else would have a naked dragon in human form turn up at Court to claim his love and almost ignore the King until he’s ready to talk to His Majesty. That’s a wow in itself and it is only one of many. Definitely a book meant for adult readers by the way. I thoroughly recommend it and am off to buy and read the next book in the series.
It’s Ps I hope Sig and his herald had a HEA as well.

I loved this book. The characters were especially lovely with quirky personalities and so fun together. Of course the great steam scenes were oh so hot, with fabulous dragon size parts involved.
Definitely worth a read and on the lighter side of Angst. Another MM hit for Eliot Grayson's collection.

Fun story. I would have loved to see them together a bit longer as a couple (just another few pages to a chapter) because the are so cute together. I have requested the bonus epilogue so maybe that will curb my craving. Spice is decently high (not normally my priority so not sure how it would rank for this who like it extra spicy) but will enough character and relationship development for a satisfying story.

Filled with pining, dumb boys making stupid decisions and laughter. I am obsessed with Corin and Aster, so cute and I loved the contrasts between them and the exploding hotness as well!! I can't get enough of Eliot Grayson, so easy to read and so enjoyable can't wait to read the next!
