The food culture of Copenhagen is woven into the fabric of Trine's daily life; she has lived in the heart of Copenhagen for more than 40 years. There is no smorrebrod, hot dog, ice cream, or coffee she hasn't tasted in this quietly gastronomic capital city.
Now, in this ground-breaking book, Trine takes us on a tour of her home town, introducing us to all the best spots to eat, drink, and catch up with friends. We learn about the old bakeries and food markets, the burgeoning street food scene, the coffee culture, and the world-famous restaurants - and along the way, Trine will offer 70 recipes for some of her very favorite dishes.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 29, 2019Verified PurchaseThis is yet another excellent cookbook from Trine Hahnemann. I have several other books by the same author. She puts a personal touch on all of her works. This text divides up Copenhagen in a series of vignettes which make the city come alive to the reader. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book, travel guide and cookbook
Verified PurchaseThis book is a treasure for me. I lived In Gammelholm for a few months and walked to all of the neighborhoods here every day. So many memories but also, more places described here to discover that I wasn’t aware of, to go on my next visit. It’s a photographic love letter to all of these areas and to the food - beautifully written, accessible and down to earth. I love the recipes so far as well, really the best of Danish food for a home cook and love her personal commentary. This sits right on my living room coffee table. Recommended for anyone who plans to explore CPH. So happy I have this book!

Verified PurchaseGiven to a friend who once lived in Copenhagen and she loved it! The photos are beautiful and the recipes sound delicious, but there are notes about Copenhagen and Danish life too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read.
Verified PurchaseI like the diversity in the book, and the photos are superb. However, the recipes have been modernized adding ingredients that a Dane wouldn’t add until recently. But I like it as a whole and have ordered several to offe4 as gifts.
