I started with the overpriced "OEM" version of this product, I bought it for skiing so I can control my music without taking my phone. It was 10x the price of this and miserably failed it's intended use. Did not work well and did not hold up to the cold.

THIS one is fantastic. It works well and I skied in -30F temps a week ago and it had no problem. Used yesterday in the rain as well and again worked without issue.

At this price I will buy it over and over again if it does end up breaking.

Does everything it says it does and holds up to weather well etc. However, when it's connected to my phone, it automatically answers all incoming calls immediately. I tried contacting the seller to see if there's a fix for this but could only get an automated 'consult the manual ' response. I returned it and got a new one in case the first one was defective but it's the same problem with the second one. This is a problem as I use my phone for business as well and am often unaware there's an active call in my pocket.

I saw another review mention this, and thought "I wonder if that's been fixed" -- it hasn't. As long as this device is connected, any incoming phone call will pick up immediately! And this device doesn't automatically disconnect after you stop using it -- it remains connected for days on a low-power mode unless you disconnect it manually. So you could hook it up to change songs during a workout, set it down, and then have your phone auto-accept calls without warning days later. It's a pretty big flaw even though the rest of the features work fine. This was the only remote that I could find with any markings on it that you can distinguish by touch, so you can be sure you're holding it the right way up and thereby know what each button will do without looking, so I'm disappointed that it has this strange bug.
