- Reviewed in Canada on August 31, 2021Verified PurchaseI needed to add a 50AMP circuit to accommodate a car charger, my home is probably 30 years old, so it's the panel. The electrician was taking time because he couldn't find a breaker for my panel since those have been discontinued. This replacement is working fine (a month now) and passed the ESA inspection as well. My electrician was surprised how fast this arrived and he took out $125 of the invoice thinking that I paid about that (which was less of course, but he didnt ask) he was just grateful that we could find the breakers.
- Reviewed in Canada on August 24, 2022Verified PurchaseThis lasted about a year. Bought it last summer for to charge my Car. I use it only on weekends during the summer at my cottage, so I can safely say at most about 100days of use so far and the breaker keeps tripping. Electrician says the breaker is defective and everything else is fine, so I am buying a proper Stablok breaker at HomeDepot.ca for 125$ delivered to my door.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 9, 2025Verified PurchaseI ordered 2 of these, I just received and opened them and each of them is missing a set screw, sad.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 5, 2025Verified PurchaseOne of the wire set screws was missing so had to use one from an old breaker. All they have to do to prevent this is to screw them in tight enough to stay in.
- Reviewed in Canada on March 15, 2022Verified PurchaseWorks perfect. This is already my second one. Exact replacement for Federal Pioneer or any NC Stab-Lok breakers. These are cheaper then buying used breakers from Kijiji, which are most likely worn out. And don’t believe the hype that Federal Pioneer style are discontinued. Stab-Lok is now being made by companies such as Connecticut Electric. Excellent product. Will definitely buy more in the future.

État neuf, étiquette marque qu'il est approuvé pour Canada. Mon électricien l'a installé sans complication... Merci beaucoup !

5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive Probably should cost about 1/2 but for the FPE scare.
Verified PurchaseExpensive but had to replace to satisfy insurance guy. Not a problem. (the original had been in there since 1954 and never failed but Hey you can't argue with insurance policy so I replaced it. Then the agent said I'd have to have it redone by a professional where I kind of blew up. I showed her my MSEE from Cal Tech, My Journeyman ticket from the IBEW and my 40 year old city license. Still she balked so we just changed insurers. So really I don't know if I had to do this or not. There was a report out of Florida where they said that 60-80% of FPE breakers failed when the normal rate is .01%. I think that was bunk. 60-80% failure rate would mean a chicago fire in every town in the USA and that didn't happen. Actually statistically it is not significantly different than any other breaker made in the 50s and 60s. Anyhow, I have a new breaker, I hope it is as good as the original. My only complaint is that it is quite expensive.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works Well But Plastic Cracks Easily
Verified PurchaseThese work well but beware the plastic is very brittle. You will get one chance to insert into ye old Stab-Lock panel. Does work with 6 AWG solid copper. Chances are if you try to remove it the plastic will crack. Only remove by hand (i.e. don’t use a screw driver or pliers type tool.) To remove by hand you will have to remove the surrounding breakers and really put your hand in there. Some times you might also have to gently align the “stab” contacts before connecting to the panel. Better have a main disconnect! Always consult your friendly neighborhood electrician.
