About the author

I enjoy translating complex financial topics critical to people's everyday life in language that can be easily understood. I do this through my non fiction "how to" books for the Dummies series and the Idiot's Guides. I have more than 35 books on the market including Bookkeeping for Dummies, Reading Financial Reports for Dummies and Trading for Dummies. Prior to writing books, I've worked as a daily newspaper reporter, a magazine editor, a press secretary for a U.S. Congressman and a fund raiser for former President Jimmy Carter, so he can continue his international work through The Carter Center. I earned my MBA at Emory University's Goizueta Business School and my BA at Rutgers University.

- Reviewed in Canada on September 14, 2008I you wanna learn "Accounting" easy way, this is the book for you. Straight to the point, with complete and clear explanation.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 14, 2004This book does an excellent job of taking you through the steps of setting up your accounting system. Starting with business structure, then on to developing your chart of accounts, and then teaching you how to work with dual entry accounting for all aspects of your business - sales, expenses, employees and benefits, and taxes. It also teaches you how to close the books monthly, develop financial statements and finanlize your year-end close. Great stuff! Easy to read and understand.
- Reviewed in Canada on January 14, 2004Fails to propery explain key concepts such accounts, debits/credits, rational behind double entry system, etc. Has some errors which add to the confusion. This one was authored by idiots.
