    This tool is not built well enough to be used for more than one job. After pulling the driver side joint the tool need to be unbent to attempt the second joint. The second joint came out but the puller tool was bent beyond repair. The tool won’t survive the job but it does work.

    The tool worked great. I had struggled for a day trying to get a rusted ball joint out of my 2011 Forester. I tried PB Blaster, Acetylene Torch, Air chisel and everything else I could think of. This got it off in under 5 minutes. I made sure I lubricated the puller threads and had the pinch opening spread nicely before attempting to pull the ball joint. I went slow with an open end wrench to avoid damaging the tool.

    Tool did the trick! 2014 Subaru Forester
    Spent hours working on getting the ball joint out, no luck. Within minutes of my delivery, the ball joint was out. I hope it works on the next ball just as well. Seriously, this is the tool you need. Ball joint must be separated from the lower control arm for this to work (I used a fork prior). Lots of PB Blaster before attempting and a well separated pinch joint.

    It worked as it should, for the most part. The threads were a bit junky but was able to get it to thread on after chasing them. It did make the job a lot easier, but didn’t pull the ball joint all the way out. I had to get it the last little bit. I believe if the slots were just a little longer, it would’ve worked perfect. Overall, I’m pleased with it and it did the job it was intended to do.

    I've been working on replacing the ball joint + control arm in the front of my subaru, and have been hammering at the joint for at least 4-6 hours over the last 3 days. This arrived in the mail, and it took me all of ~10 mins to remove the pesky ball joint. A few notes:
    - make sure the inner nut "thing" is threaded as far as you can reasonably get onto the ball joint stud (halfway through the inner nut), and also thread the tool onto the nut until it is snug. My first attempt I did not have the ball joint side threaded enough, and it popped off (in my case, I had re-threaded part of the ball joint beforehand using a die, as I had mushroomed the stud out slightly with some questionable sledge usage)
    - the instructions call for using a deep 24mm socket and a ratchet to screw the ball joint out. It will get extremely tight/difficult to turn, especially if your car has lived its life in the rust belt. swapping out to a 30" breaker bar partway through, then switching back to the ratchet once loose-ish saved me a lot of effort.

    For how many hours I spent working on this thing, I wish I'd have bought one of these before I started. I can't speak to the big metal hook for removing the control arm from the joint, but I'll be trying that out on the other side later today.... then grabbing the angle grinder and saw to cut out all the other rusted parts :)
